Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Safari as my primary interest browser. Safari is how I access the web systems and web platforms that our organization uses. The business problems that Safari fixes are everything. Without a browser, I am unable to use the web as a tool for growing my business.

Cons

  • Some websites don't function with Safari, compared to other browsers
  • Accept all extension downloads

Return on Investment

  • A majority of our organization's tools are web based. By using Safari, we can access Google Workspace and make real time edits in our documents
  • Safari does not crash. There are no bugs. So I don't have to pay for IT support.
  • Safari is user friendly so whether folks are tech friendly or not, the Safari learning curve is very small.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I frequently use Safari to connect to my email, both personal and business, as well as to connect to our provider portal. I also use it to look up medications, side effects, and diagnoses with which I am not familiar or for which I need a refresher with respect for symptoms. Although I would not call them problems, Safari does allow me important connectivity and information. I find it intuitive and easy to use. When typing a question the first thing that appears is the AI Overview. This is quite often helpful, but if I want to dive deeper into a subject, I just scroll down to see additional entries.

  • Accessing YouTube for videos I might want to watch

Cons

  • Although the AI is helpful, it is not always accurate, so it is not clear if having this appear first is the best approach.
  • I do not like having "Sponsored Results" appearing at the top of search results. It would be better having this somewhere else.
  • My preference is to read about topics so having videos listed near the top of the search results is not always effective for me.

Return on Investment

  • Accessing email is imperative as it allows me to communicate with patients, colleagues, friends, and family.
  • Accessing our provider portal is always essential because this is where my schedule is stored and where I do my billing.
  • When I need to look up a medication or its side effects quickly, Safari usually nails it on the first try.
  • Predictive text in searches also saves me time.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Safari as my primary browser. So it's by far my #1 most used app on any day. I rarely use anything else... I use Safari for video calls, Google docs, chatting coworkers on Gmail, etc. I don't really like using lots of programs and toggling between them. I'd rather have a few pinned tabs on Safari and all my bookmarks right there at the top.

Pros

  • It's fast, seems faster than other browsers I have used
  • i think it's very intuitive, which may just be because I have used it for so long.
  • Love that it syncs across apple devices

Cons

  • Lack of plugins, or plugins that don't seem to work well
  • I hate how Safari displays browser history without timestamps - I need those for tracking my time on timesheets
  • It can be frustrating when I have a pinned tab and I open a new tab and try to go to the same site from my bookmarks and Safari just switches me over to the pinned tab. I often want two tabs with the same website

Return on Investment

  • This is really hard. I mean, it keeps me productive? But I can't say there is a business ROI difference because I use Safari vs. Chrome. It's just preference.
  • I guess it runs video calls well which are key to my work.
  • Negative: I cannot use to do Bugherd tasks, which are frequent. So I switch to Chrome.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Safari as our main web browsing OS. It has an extremely fluid UI and works well natively with our Macbooks.

Pros

  • Extremely fast for day to day browsing
  • Doesn't allow app/cookie tracking

Cons

  • web pages occasionally crash for no reason
  • better restore functionality when pages crash

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a DevOps Engineer I use Safari as a browser in order to interact between the different DevOps Tooling, It seems to work well and it is rather easy to store tabs and favorites, I also like its cache setting which is easy to clear. Incognito also seems to work well.
