Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use the Aptean Food & Beverage ERP for sales to invoice our customer base, including some of the best local restaurants and produce markets here on Cape Cod. The platform addresses questions for both the clientele and the sales team regarding the availability of product and when to expect it in the warehouse with its live inventory ability. We are just over a year into implementation and are grateful we made the change. The A/P & A/R functionality is also quite user-friendly & intuitive.
Pros
- Screen customization according to personal preference
- Accurate live inventory counts
- Data history on individual items
Cons
- Determining specifically what date an item was last purchased from a customer. Item Tracking Entries are helpful, but it would be even more beneficial if it had the Shipment Date field instead of Expiration.
- Sometimes field names change as they go from orders to posted. Continuity would make things crystal clear.
Return on Investment
- It's easier to extract and analyze data now in regard to customer performance, item statistics, sales by period, etc.
- It's simple to identify which account special ordered particular items.
- Our implementation has been quite successful and there is much more functionality still to explore for expansion and improvement.
