We implemented the Azure VD solution to create a secure, resilient, and reliable environment for our users' ERP needs. In our case, they use SAGE. We deployed over 50 VMs and can scale them easily depending on the client's needs. The fact that users can access any computing device including tablets and Macintosh is another plus.
  • Security
  • Scalability
  • Pay as you go model
  • Windows Remote client can be improved
The pay-as-you-go model was one of the best features for our clients as their user numbers can scale up or down depending on the season. Being in the cloud, the Virtual Desktop solution helps us to cope easier with our remote users as well as partner or guest accounts as it is very easy to deploy secure environments for them.

As a MSP we are always looking for the most performand and most secure solution to provide our customers the ability to work from anywhere. With Azure Virtual Desktop we have a secure and streamlined solution to do so. Because a lot of the technical implementation is now handled by Microsoft itself (PaaS) it has become even less cumbersome to deploy a new AVD environment within minutes instead of hours/days
  • Secure Access (Identity management by Azure, including MFA and other security measures)
  • Scalability (scale up or down servers depending on the load of the systems)
  • Licensing Structure is very clear
  • While it is PaaS it would be nice to have some monitoring insights into some parts of the offering
  • Migrating user sessions from one host to another (to be able to downscale) would be awesome
  • It would be nice to have a more seamless deployment of FSLogix in a AVD Enviroment
Currently Azure Virtual Desktop enviroments are our first choice for all customers. Especially because most of our customers already have a M365 License which includes Azure Virtual Desktop usage.

We deploy it for both RemoteApp and Full desktop solutions. This gives us the flexibility to "lift and shift" a specific workload of more legacy customers towards the cloud and provide them with a secure solution to use their apps in the cloud from anywhere.

I need to access the client-server system to install our application and check on that. For our product, we have to give a virtual machine to each client by which we can access that as a server.
  • Easy to configure
  • Manage the resources
  • Easy to integrate with dotnet environment
  • No physical contact required
  • We Install and use the machine from anywhere in the world
  • Nothing much
  • Little expensive for small business and learners
There is a process where we have to create/access the client-server to run the application. For each client, we need to follow the process, and it is really user-friendly to work on. Sometimes the connection breaks down suddenly, but it is rarely happening.

Was able to scale up several environments in short order with little effort. Used Azure Virtual Desktop to spin up 100's of desktops in hours, this would take days or weeks to do with physical hardware. Was also able to leverage built in monitoring tools to keep eye on the VD's. Great product
  • Creation of virtual enviroment
  • Scaling
  • Security
  • Built in monitoring capability
Securely access work applications regardless of where user is. Able to rapidly deploy 100s of desktops for a change in remote work. This saved us significant cost on physical hardware and speed up security process. We had users accessing the new environments in hours vs days. Was no impact to operations.

We are using Azure Virtual Desktop or AVD on large scale as a Common Shared desktop to showcase our test builds to end users. as we have a large team, we used separate instances for all builds. Azure Virtual Desktop played a vital role in removing this bottleneck. now we use a single AVD desktop for all the testing.
  • scaling
  • using our own image
  • seamless multi-session capabilities
  • UI can be updated
  • Higher DPI would have been welcome
  • lags on low end devices
if you're having a testing team that works on testing load for various scenarios, as we have here, dev, test, quality & production build. this is an ideal use case to implement AVD, especially if you're staff is all work from home. they will just require AVD and they're ready to go.

Azure Virtual Desktop or AVD is widely used in our company for multiple purposes and by multiple users. Used from IT Admins for admin\jump servers, used from permanent employees when their hardware is late for delivery, used from externals\contractors that temporarily used company resources, and used as a single (dedicated) host scenario or multi-user environment when we can optimize the resources in use. With advanced resources management, we can manage our resources even better and save a lot of company money.
  • Resources management
  • Simplicity
  • Managability
  • Advance and complex technology use
  • Latest tech available
  • Resources management without external (3rd party) solutions
Easy to configure, establish and provide resources to users. A really good option when a golden image needs to be prepared and used from the next provisioned host, but also easy to update and provision additional hosts for the next users. Host decommission or removing access to the resources is easy and can be done by all levels of IT employees.

It is used to allow every user authorised access to the organisation’s information assets from anywhere through authorised company devices
  • Efficient backups to one drive
  • Fast and easy migration from one laptop to another
  • Ability to work from anywhere so long as you have internet access
  • To not only backup documents folder but also other folders eg desktop and downloads
Well suited for businesses that want to adopt remote working without losing control of its information assets as the data is centrally managed.

Azure Virtual Desktop has been a game changer in terms of performance delivering with reduced cost to company, my IT department were having different computer machines with lower computing power. With Azure virtual desktop we were having a flexibility to use more powerful system with enhanced memory and CPU power on the same machine with lower configuration. It reduced the cost to buy a new equipment and the power which was delivered way better than the actual systems in the teams with higher configurations. Launching and supporting application which required more resources is now a cake walk
  • Better computing power
  • Configurable System and as per team needs configuration can be added or removed at ease
  • Internet Connectivity within the cloud system is way better than our home / office internet connections
  • No heating issues on personal machines, leaving all the worry on actual data center machines
  • Only issue is this system requires high ping speeds on client end so that screen from cloud is received to client side, if not then we see a lag in screen from virtual desktop
  • If someone from admin changes some configuration for a group, it is reflected on every machine, more control should be given to end user to atleast restart the system or restore the system to its previous state
  1. Users with older machines and when the IT department is facing the crunch in procuring the actual system due to ongoing pandemic.
  2. Users with more computing power can use these machines, which can work at better speeds and give out better results and faster speed.
  3. If the end user internet is not perfect that is it is low speed or ping then it is not recommended to use these systems

We have our applications hosted via the cloud and the Azure Virtual Desktop makes it more streamlined for us to access multiple applications at once. Able to set different permissions for different users. There are many other similar programs but I say from a Microsoft environment this one is the best one. Integrates with our system
  • User Interface
  • Connection
  • Stability
  • Extra training
  • more in depth guides
  • Best case scenarios
When I need to connect virtually know Azure Virtual Desktop is there for me to use and connect to my application. We have multiple apps in our environment. Room for growth in the future as well and a system that gets patched and updated frequently without any issues or problems.

Replaced popular VDI infra with Azure Virtual Desktop in one of our customers to address cloud-first policy, commercial concerns, and ease of administration.
  • Quick deployment
  • More integration flexible for Digital workplace
  • pay as you use flexibility
  • Teams desktop sharing doesn’t work consistently
  • Teams Audio and video inconsistent performance
  • Azure Virtual Desktop profile cache issues
  • Improvement required on Azure Virtual Desktop monitoring
It very well suits for virtual environment requirements and application access.
It doesn’t suit well for 3rd party domain application access

In our organization, we are using the Azure Virtual Desktop for deploying the .Net and python application for the different environments, e.g., Development, SIT, UAT, Performance testing. It will help us to manage the different environments in an effective manner. Our team members can access this kind of different environment desktop at easy way and anywhere.
  • Easy to configure and control the virtual environment
  • Effectively manage the resources for cost-saving
  • Simple way to increase the node in Azure Virtual Desktop
  • Easy to integrate with any kind of environment
  • It is expensive for small scale organizations
  • Customization
  • Azure Virtual Desktop portal needs to improve
As per the project requirement, we are developing an app in the .Net framework, building the ML model in the python framework. Azure Virtual Desktop provides the management of different frameworks of apps in an easy way. Even we can scale up the node VM based on workload. Better to manage the different types of environments in a single umbrella. Need to improve the interactive UI in the Azure Virtual Desktop portal.

The Azure Windows Virtual Desktop is being used by your organization in the following ways:
Build multi-session Windows 10 deployment that delivers a full Windows 10 with scalability. Virtualize Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. Manage Windows 10, Windows Server, and Windows 7 desktops and apps with a unified management experience.
  • You can publish as many host pools as you need to accommodate your diverse workloads
  • Brings your own image for production workloads or test from the Azure Gallery
  • Reduces costs with pooled, multi-session resources.
  • With the new Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session capability exclusive to Windows Virtual Desktop and Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) role on Windows Server, you can greatly reduce the number of virtual machines and operating system (OS) overhead while still providing the same resources to your users.
  • Use the Azure portal, Windows Virtual Desktop PowerShell and REST interfaces to configure the host pools, create app groups, assign users, and publish resources.
  • Publish full desktop or individual remote apps from a single host pool, create individual app groups for different sets of users, or even assign users to multiple app groups to reduce the number of images.
  • As we manage our environment, we use built-in delegated access to assign roles and collect diagnostics to understand various configuration or user errors.
  • We use the new Diagnostics service to troubleshoot errors.
Everything we have done with Azure Windows Virtual Desktop is well suited for our company's environment. We use it on a wide range of products and applications. As I said in the previous answers, Azure Windows Virtual Desktop is used for Windows 10 builds, Office 365, and has multiple functions our company uses. It is a great product.

I daily use Azure Windows Virtual Desktop within my organization in order to reach our customer's network. The ability to have a virtual desktop that resides on their network allows me to access all of the information quickly and securely after authentication. This has extremely shortened the amount of time that it takes to get the things I need.
  • Window Size
  • Connection stability
  • Authentication
  • Security
  • Amount of time to log in
  • Customization
  • User preferences and options
I think that the best case to use [Azure] Windows Virtual Desktop is when you have multiple servers that you need to access quickly and efficiently. The ability to save and access the remote computers from anywhere quickly definitely has enhanced my productivity and I would definitely recommend it to a colleague. If you want to use this for personal use, it's not as effective because of the complex installation.

Windows Virtual Desktop has a couple of main uses in our organization.

  1. The first use explored was to provide existing curriculum materials and software from Windows devices on to the explosion of growth in the use of Chromebooks.
  2. Second was to be able to provide a truly robust experience for students to learn the intricacies of using higher end software that requires 3d Acceleration such as the Autodesk or Adobe Creative Suites.
  3. Finally, it allowed a quick transition for our pandemic related learning at home.
  • Extend the on-prem experience to the cloud.
  • Purpose built access.
  • Cost-effective 3d workloads.
  • Requiring double sign-on.
  • More integration with single sign-on.
  • Consistent experience between web and RDP clients.
  • Providing a Windows experience on non-Windows devices.
  • Allowing students and teachers to use existing materials across a wide range of devices, including BYOD and Chromebooks, iPads, phones.
  • 3D workloads in the cloud.
  • Secure access to on-prem resources.
