Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We have been using Symantec Endpoint, now Broadcom for 11+ years. We install the client locally on all school-owned and as many student computers as possible. We have been less successful in that regard as we would like and are currently investigating a migration to a different true EDR product.

Likelihood to Recommend
From a price point Symantec cannot be beat in EDU. However, for better EDR a more robust, fully featured solution is desirable. I am not sure if Broadcom is continuing to develop the product either after purchasing it.
Return on Investment
  • It has been a good solution for the time we have used it.
Alternatives Considered
We are making a migration from Symantec to SentinelOne in the near future for easier deployment, better EDR and management functionality.

We were looking for a tool that can prevent organizations from advanced threats that can be easy to use and would make it possible to block malicious threats with one mouse click. this does the same.

  • Excellent customer support
  • Adding malicious sources taking time
  • Reporting function is very basic
  • Symantec ATP has no integration with Symantec ETDAD.
