CA Workload Automation and Workload Manager GUI
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We currently use CA Workload Automation in out environment. We use it to run peoplesoft jobs on multiple platforms and this product is great and easy to use. We created daily reports to account for all jobs for 1 year and their return codes. The code to create jobs is straight forward and easy to code. It does not require any special programming background. We are using this product now and I would Highly recommend it with its' CA Workload Automation to monitor all jobs thru a GUI. We do dataset triggering, file transfers, cross platform job running and monitoring. Each platform that is non-ibm mainframe is monitored thru an agent that is capable of recovering scheduling status if there is a network outage and continue with its schedule.
Pros
- cross platform scheduling
- job schedule controlling based on return codes
- data set triggering based on incoming files thru an ftp server
- Job condition code processing/triggering
- agent monitoring on multiple platforms.
Cons
- This product is great for what we use it for, no issues
Return on Investment
- We run multiple agencies and have had no issues that this product could not correct easily.
