Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Check Point Harmony Email & Office is the email solution which everyone should looking for. Most of users getting with unwanted email in the inbox it may contains phishing link, malicious file, stenography images that can harm the user machine as well from user it may get impacted other users may be the core server. To overcome this issues Check Point Harmony Email & Office is used in our organization.

Pros

It scans all the emails which included attachment
it also scans the password protected file which is the main advantage of this
Every morning user will get notification from Check Point about junk emails if user want that email it can be release.

Cons

Mostly it can detect QR code base attack.
Helps to user to indentify the stenography images may contains malicious file
It is centrally deploy so it's easy for administrator create policy

It has very extensive scan so every whether it is going inbound or outbound it make sure every email it should check. Unless traditional ramil security it sits behind the email gateway so all the incoming mail should scan twice before it reaches to the user. Based on this it provides us the double security.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Like most organizations, we need a robust email security filter to protect our users and customers from malicious email content. We were using Mimecast, but found it expensive and complicated to set up. We also use it to categorize and route "promotional" emails to our end users.

Pros

Filter phishing email.
Filter emails with viruses.
Protect against impersonation attacks.
Manage email quarantine for users and admins.

Cons

It does tend to let through more junk email than our previous filters.
It's more difficult for our end users to report spam or phishing emails and have Check Point learn from reports.
The admin panel can be slow to operate.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well-suited for small or medium businesses running on Microsoft 365 or Google Business Suite to provide an additional layer of security and filtering for email.

The Check Point Harmony Email & Office and collaboration is working as frontline defence for our email security unlike traditional email security it operates after the email server. in this scenario emails and attachments will scan twice: first on email server like M365 and then it will scan by Check Point Harmony Email & Office, if in case any threat missed by M365 then it will be block by Check Point Harmony Email & Office

Pros

It scan the emails and attachments based on policy so no any email goes without scan
QR code based attack will also block by Check Point Harmony Email & Office
As per architecture of email security email scanned by the solution is twice.

Cons

No On-premises solution required, totally cloud based solution
Unlike tradition email security Check Point Harmony Email & Office has the different architecture which enhances the features
It block or scans the emails, QR code based attacks as well as Images based attacks (stegnography)

Additionally also resolving the problem of malicious links, malware attachments and business email compromise. Risk of email based threats are now a days increasing rapidly that can lead to risk of data breach via email which can be protect by checkpoint Harmony Email.

Pros

AI driven security engines, machine learning and sandboxing to analyze URLs and attachments in real time.
Header inspection, domain similarity checks and identity profiling to detect BEC attacks, CEO frauds, and domain spoofing.
Inline URL rewriting to protect user from clicking the malicious URLs

Cons

Many active content or macros detection in pdfs, MS office file should need to improve
DLP of checkpoint harmony Emails should add more advance regex system
Folder option needed to add in quarantine options.
Password protected file detection also need improvement

The product is well suited in the scenarios where the organization is using Mircosoft O365 as it can easily integrate with not only O365 but the other saas application like teams, sharepoint, and onedrive. The product is not appropriate for the organization which require granular policy customizations which can become tough for the product as of now.

We use it to protect our Google Workspace/Gmail from phishing and other malicious emails. Check Point Harmony Email & Office offers a much robust email security than the native Google protections built into Gmail.

I've used this product at two different companies for both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. It offers far superior protection from phishing and other malicious emails than the native tools of these products. There are very few false positives and administrative overhead is low all at a very reasonable price point.

I have very few complaints and most are just nit-picks. The UI could use a refresh and can be slow at times. Support is fairly standard for the space but my account team is very responsive
