Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Collosyan to create videos to bookend eLearning courses. I, basically, don't have the skills to create "good" videos myself, and what I do create would take ages. I could hire freelancers, but that's a cost and a hassle, and even if I used in-house talent from other teams, that's very time-consuming. I pretty much just give it a script, a quick prompt, and I can have a video in half an hour or so.

  • Output could be more accessible (screenreaders, keyboard nav, etc.)
  • It could be better at automating animation (beyond avatars)
  • The AI feature could be better post-draft stage

  • It's too early to say on absolute output as the courses are still being built.
  • I've probably saved weeks of labour hours in video generation.
  • It's also probably saved a few thousand pounds in freelancer fees.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use it as a LMS course builder. All the courses my client have are in power points. But presenting all these live is causing some time issues. So I'm creating these videos + interactive activities for students so they can do it at their own past.

Pros

  • Good range of templates
  • very simple to use. Minimalistic
  • the new course builder is a very welcomed add on
  • the new Neo 2 is a game changer

Cons

  • lack of realistic AI (vs what Synthesia offers). NEO 2 is the answer BUT limited
  • lack of mods (like animations for the texts / images)
  • Better voice mods too, too many robotic voices especially in different language than English. Need more adjustment we can do.

Return on Investment

  • Time is money : less time and less energy using Colossyan than presenting ourselves
  • Cost of building and paying can be a lot. But on the long run, the courses will be running by themselves thus cutting money spent doing it ourselves again.
  • We are now more proactive for other business matters. Instead of 3 presenting a product, only 1 can build a video while 2others can focus on other important matters.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Colossyan to create training videos that will be mandatory for all the employees in my organization across the globe. It has helped us optimize costs we otherwise would have spent on professional grade production, lighting, actors/models, recording equipment, editing staff, etc. It creates hyper realistic humanoid avatars for a fraction of the cost.

Pros

  • The realism in tone, inflections and expressions of the avatars is unparalleled
  • The animation marker feature makes it easy to synchronise animations with the script for the voiceover
  • It is very user friendly and easy to master

Cons

  • The shapes are limited - as a PowerPoint user I felt the array of available shapes needs variety
  • The AI feature in turning an uploaded PowerPoint to a completed video could be improved
  • More options for English accents would be great

Return on Investment

  • Shooting 20 hours of training content would have cost close to $500,000 and I can get similar results with a ~$7000 yearly license
  • The engagement we have noticed on videos created on Colossyan is 70% higher than the traditional 2D animation we were using.
  • In terms of editing time, post production edits would have cost a lot of time with the re-shooting and editing whereas Colossyan can do it with a few clicks

Pros

  • It creates a very good training environment to create within
  • Very user friendly for teaching other editors & Scalable.

Cons

  • Dynamic backgrounds that the avatar can interact with to some degree would be nice.
  • A continued trek towards AGI and script building. Improving AI generated images inside the domain as well.

We need the ability to quickly create multilingual sales enablement training content. The product also needs to help us auto translate or dub existing content we have.

  • Cora AI assistant is very handy for co-creating content

Cons

  • Cora usage caps aren't clearly labeled
  • AI avatar cloning is not very accurate
  • AI assistance needs to work across the deck, not just on the script of one scene
  • Video gen limits on the v2 engine is way too low

Return on Investment

  • Limits on Cora and AI Video Gen is too low for the amount of content enterprises need to create and draft (40 drafts)
  • Custom avatar setup was frustrating and easily took twice the amount of time compared to Synthesia
  • V2 video gen limits at 120 minutes is woefully inadequate
