I use it to manage our workstations, servers from remote support to alerts, services and operate our NOC from this tool.

Pros

  • Single pane of glass for workstation support
  • Easy to configure custom alerts/scripts

Cons

  • Integrating the psa still drags all contacts in
  • Lack of scheduled reboot in simple ne click action.
  • Needs better 3rd party patching support

We used ConnectWise RMM to manage our clients' networks and for 24/7 monitoring. We used it to patch Windows and third-party apps. We also used it for Scripting and remote access. It helped us move from break-fix to more proactive support, and we managed about 3000 endpoints.

  • Patch management wasn't great.
  • Technical support was lacking at times; it felt like the team didn't know the product well enough to help with a complex issue for our on-prem server.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used it as our main remote tool to troubleshoot machines and get information about them, such as specs, serial numbers, warranties, etc. The most useful feature was the dashboard, which showed various stats on an easy-to-view screen before connecting to the computer.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I work for a small MSP that has been a ConnectWise customer for a long time. We switched from Labtech to ConnectWise RMM for device management, remote access, event-log alerting, and scripting. The platform gives us excellent insight into the environments we manage. With integrated backup visibility for Axcient, a robust selection of built-in alerts, and an easily navigable platform, ConnectWise RMM has been a great replacement. There are still some things I miss about LabTech, but switching was definitely a step in the right direction.

Pros

  • Excellent search feature with built in keywords that make finding systems easy.
  • Improved onboarding and offboarding of systems (faster than labtech).
  • Improved Scripting (faster than labtech).
  • Built in Auvik netowrk monitoring.
  • Improved visual interface.

Cons

  • Screenconnect is slow to install during onboarding.
  • Domain controllers are no longer easily visible in the Devices view (in LT they were labeled as DC.
  • No Data views (though we are told this is coming).

Return on Investment

  • Change. This is both positive and negative. Enhanced features, but it takes adjustments to find certain information I knew I could get from Labtech.
  • The integrated network monitor enhances network visibility over previous platforms, which is a value-add.
  • Automation. Less disjointed than Labtech; easier to learn and use, even when you are new to the platform.
  • Scripting. Customized scripts are easy to create and test quickly, improving efficiency.

Pros

  • They help in remote accessing devices to resolve issues
  • They also connect with Screenconnect
  • They also detect deeplinks, endpoints to prevent phising or scam

Cons

  • Alerting system could be improved by focusing only on critical alerts
