Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use AVImark as our practice management system for a busy, high-volume nonprofit. When our practice started we were an HQHV spay and neuter clinic, and are now a full-service clinic. We have adapted certain features to suit our needs as we are not like your standard private practices and while there are some limitations, it does get the job done.

Pros

  • Reporting.
  • Client management.
  • Record keeping.

Cons

  • Emails don't always send.
  • Sometimes can load very slowly.
  • Inventory over multi sites is never right.

Likelihood to Recommend

AVImark works for us. Yes, there are times when we wish it could do this or do that, but overall, it does exactly what we need it to. It is easy to use and easy to teach to people with no knowledge of any vet software and it is pretty user-friendly as well.

Avimark

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Avimark company-wide. We use it for all electronic medical records, inventory, accounting, patient documents and reminders. Avimark is very user-friendly on the front end, when you get into the back end of the program as an administrator, it can be tricky. Alot of the functions are kind of backward to figure out.

Pros

  • Accounting
  • Inventory
  • Medical Records
  • Document Storage

Cons

  • Better integration with other software such as credit card machines

Likelihood to Recommend

Avimark is very helpful with inventory, accounting, medical record keeping. Customer service is also amazing, they are very helpful most of the time when you call in to address an issue or ask them to help you figure out a shortcut way of doing things that would make everyones' jobs easier. We use Avimark to prompt for documents that we have created with "merge" words.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our hospitals utilize AVImark across all departments (veterinary teams, transcriptionists, kennel technicians). We use AVImark as our medical chart for patients and scheduling platform for all types of appointments, including surgeries, exams, grooming, and boarding.

Pros

  • Charting and chart interface are relatively user friendly
  • Information searches are thorough and effective
  • Scheduling calendar is easy to use and differentiate between types of appointments and doctors

Cons

  • Being able to adjust "remove appointment" options on the calendar. Would be nice to change the type to different stages of the exam (i.e. 'checked in', 'with tech', 'with doctor', 'checked out'), rather than just whether the appointment was kept, rescheduled, late, etc.
  • Inventory monitoring and receiving. There is little provided in terms of inventory control or alerting appropriate users if counts are off (like going into negatives). Variancing is also particularly time consuming and difficult
  • Better integration with other types of credit card processing companies or technology.
