The customer service and account manager are very helpful and responsive throughout the course. However there are still issues with connector between Netsuite and CUBE after over 8 months from signup. The so-called direct integration hasn't really been working. It requires manual fix every time after I initiate an uploaded. The team hasn't been able to troubleshoot the root cause until now.
  • Excellent customer service
  • direct connection should be working every single time seamlessly
CUBE probably works better on excel based data without any integration of other software. Based on my experience so far the connector with other software is very buggy.

Cube was just what we needed to gain quick and easy access to financial analytics plus easier report building! We use an accounting system that had reporting capabilities but building those was cumbersome and inefficient. Cube helped us make this entire process easy. Cube also allowed for easier budgeting and forecasting and we are still in the process of spreading our wings into other Cube possibilities.
  • Report Building
  • Budgeting
  • Financial Analysis/Segments
  • Implementation was rough at first
  • Continued improvement capabilities with dashboards
Cube is best as a supplement for anyone used to using Excel that wants to develop specific reporting that their accounting system does not support, or that is inefficient. Cube is likely best for middle market but I can see a use case for a larger platform as well.

I don't think Cube's price point is great for small business and I don't think it would be a user friendly if someone was not at least proficient in excel.

We use Cube for BvAs and other routine financial reporting. Each month we import the latest GL and transaction data into Cube and refresh existing templates to automatically pull the latest numbers. We also use Cube as a repository for business KPIs for a source of truth to import into financial models.
  • Lots of flexibility with creating new scenarios, accounts, or other dimensions
  • Easy to manage data due to Excel and Google Sheets integrations
  • Customer support is typically responsive and helpful
  • Importing GL data is still not an automated process
  • Lacking functionality for headcount planning
  • Lacking functionality for forecasting within Cube
Cube is well-suited to help save time on financial reporting if you need to refresh the same templates each month. It is also great for building templates and pulling in data directly from Excel or Google Sheets.

Cube is less appropriate for larger scale companies - we've run into issues with uploading large sets of transaction data and it does not have as robust planning or forecasting features that you'd find in other FP&A tool competitors.

Use Cube for all of our Sage actual reporting as well as all forward looking financial forecats (rolling monthly, budgets, long term plans)
  • Publishing data for forecasts
  • Intergrate with ERP for Actuals
  • Customer Support
  • Some formatting of how data is pulled should be able to be pre formatted
  • Better dashboards (think PowerBI or Tableau)
  • A project mgmt tool is essential for FP&A - eg. tracking progress of budgets etc
Best suited for businesses not ready or looking to move away from excel. Its super intuitive if you even have basic pivot table knowledge meaning you can get the rest of the non finance teams transitioned and using it really quickly.

Not super easy to track changes or manage forecasting projects like budgets to see who has published and who needs chasing.

We have implemented Cube as the FP&A team across the wider commercial Finance team at our organisation to help us to take control of our management data. It is supporting is across the full scope of our work in FP&A - reporting actuals, budget and forecasting. Cube is enabling us to have a reliable historical source of management information, which is a huge time-saver and helping us to focus on trend analysis. In addition, we are able to actualise our forecasts via a system rather than complicated, error-prone Excel formulas which opens up much deeper insight to our performance as a business.
  • Easy & quick implementation with outstanding customer support
  • Exceptional compatibility with Excel allows for much easier training and adoption by the business
  • Built with the FP&A & Finance user in mind
  • Additional flexibility in Excel reporting (although the product team regularly release new functionality)
  • More data formatting options available in the add-in (e.g. retrieving data in thousands or as a %)
Cube is particularly well-suited to small to mid-size organisations who are relatively early in transforming their Finance function to make use of cloud-based technologies. If until now the organisation has been based out of spreadsheets, Cube is an excellent choice for stepping into an FP&A system. The easy implementation, fantastic customer support and ease of manipulating existing Excel (or G-Sheet) reports to interface with Cube really stands out against other available softwares.

QuickBooks Online doesn't have a robust or flexible budget capability, and filling that gap is what led me to Cube. I'm able to fully house budget and forecast scenarios, run reports and analytics, all within Cube. It's easy to shift a couple parameters, hit update, and refesh your report in the same place to run different scenarios. I tend to use it more frequently than the accounting software's built in reports, and now I've extended its capabilities beyond just budgets and into revenue and payroll. We tie all these things together to go beyond budgeting and into forecasting, planning, etc.
  • Intuitive - it acts as an extension of programs you're already familiar with, Excel and Sheets. There's no programming language to learn, no complicated portals to work within. If you don't know BI, you don't need to learn it. You can "Cube-ify" your existing spreadsheets, or build from the ground up. The functionality is similar to the way pivot tables work, so it's intuitive to learn and use.
  • Powerful - It wrangles all our different streams of data from different places and you're able to control it with a few clicks from an Excel sidebar
  • A huge shout out to the support team as well. I always have a dedicated rep at hand for help (what's up Riley!); the support articles are genuinely useful, which is refreshing for finance software; & they're always looking for product feedback to help adapt the roadmap to what's actually needed.
  • The only flaw that I find is something they've communicated that they're constantly working to improve, which is speed to load or fetch data. It can be time consuming to update and process a bunch of different reports. However, some important caveats: some of the lag is due to the way our company structure is set up; I have been able to re-design/architect my reports/sheets with speed in mind & to make things more efficient, and that's gone a long way; Cube has already improved the speed of fetching noticeably since I first got setup. I expect it will only continue to improve until it's no longer even noticeable.
1) The budget process. In QBO the budgeting capability is non-existant, unless you like manually typing in every scenario and not being able to budget by class. Cube houses my budget/forecast scenarios & lets me view and analyze by my company's preferred data points; department, GL account, vendor, & sales campaign. I'm able to run monthly budget variance reports and plan for the future with ease.
2) We've begun using Cube to help analyze profitablity by sales job. We've never had such easy access to this type of info in the past, so this is a benefit I can directly attribute to Cube.
3) We're beginning now to use an integration with our payroll software to work on headcount planning and payroll analysis.

In my experience with FP&A software tools, Cube has proven to be the most reliable and flexible I have ever used. I previously switched roles and decided to use Cube again at my new company. I use it every day and the support staff is always on call. I have used Cube to build out full reporting packages for multiple ELT/SLT level users and consolidated financial systems using this tool.
  • Data implementation
  • P&L Reporting
  • Easy of use
  • More admin passes
  • Alphabetical ordering of vendors/customers/etc on website
Cube is well suited for any FP&A team to build up their financial reporting packages and maintaining a singular source of truth. The different scenario analysis within Cube is extremely beneficial in budgeting, forecast, and all other long term planning.

Cube allows us to pull our financials from QuickBooks into our various models for monthly close and scenario analysis. We were able to customize our mapping and account hierarchy to fit the business use case. Cube's native gsheet and excel addons are a game changer which allows us to pipe the data directly into a sheet for further manipulation.
  • Easy to use
  • Simple interface
  • Addons for gsheets and excel
  • Import times
  • Modeling functionality
Cube is really good at getting your financial data from Quickbooks (or any other journal software) into gsheets or excel. It's not as good when it comes to complex modeling in my opinion.

We use Cube daily on our team. It's the core system we use for all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, expense management, and strategic reporting. We have had a pretty seamless integration and we are able to quickly turn over reports to management. Prior to utilizing Cube we operated on a more robust planning software but as our contract was expiring we recognized the need for a more simple approach. Cube has delivered.
  • Customer Service
  • Ease of Use
  • Ease of Integration
  • Fetching "0s" instead of blank rows
  • More robust dashboarding
  • Scenario planning
The interface of Cube is easy to use and it allows for our FP&A team to do our own custom reporting instead of being locked into the format of a more complex platform. Cube recently rolled out overnight syncing, so with an overnight auto-import setup, we can start fresh each morning knowing the data we're working with is live and updated.

Department level budgeting, budget vs actual, annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting. Cube has been essential in our budgeting process and is extremely simple to use. We needed an excel based system (not google sheets or web based) that we can implement quickly. It is simple to create custom reports on the fly and easy to review financial performance by department.
  • Integration was extremely simple
  • Since Cube is excel based it was easy to "cubify" our existing budgets, forecasts, and models
  • Easy to create custom reports on the fly
  • Online dashboard could be more robust
  • Would like the ability for department leaders to see budget vs actual on the online dashboard
Cube has given us the ability to create and monitor detailed department level budgeting and financial performance to budget. It is easy to drill down into GL level data in excel for review without having to go back into our ERP.

Cube increases the efficiency and time involved with the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis. Cube templates are highly customizable and can be used for various purposes, making the creation of unique financial reports streamlined. Cube removes the manual process of financial reporting and automates it.
  • Automates recurring financial reporting
  • Highly customizable
  • Multiuse for reporting, planning, budgeting, analysis
  • Integration with accounting system requires manual intervention periodically to restore accurate ledger data
Highly effective in daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. The use of templates is easy to repeat and automate making reporting more efficient. Cube is also useful for budgeting and publishing annual budgets.

We use for financial reporting. We import our GL data and then use Cube to update a portfolio of reports and slide decks. Specifically we use to get granular data on profitability with the click of refresh button where as before there was multiple data pulls and copy and pastes to get the same level of detail.
  • It quickly aggregates and slices data in the format we need. Even when that data is too large for excel or other tools.
  • It has flexible hierarchies so that we can make a variety of reports using similar information.
  • The support team is always quick help and resolve issues.
  • Cube uploads data from set connection on a schedule you set allowing you to always up to date information.
  • It could have better data visualization.
  • It could import large data sets faster.
  • It can more quickly update google sheets.
For quickly updating slides and reports with the most recent GL data. Especially useful when there are complex relationships between accounts that need separate hierarchies for different reporting audiences. With the ability to schedule upload jobs you know that your reports that you send out will always have the most recent information from your system.

Cube software has really helped to streamline our month-end close reporting process. It's integration with Netsuite/Excel has allowed for quick and meaningful report generation that allows for total control with regards to displaying cuts and slices and dices of granular data. In my experience, once set up, it is very helpful.
  • Excel integration with netsuite
  • Ease of Use
  • UX is very user friendly
  • Customer Service
  • Import connection to netsuite always breaks
I think Cube is very useful to have for a small to medium sized company, especially if you are solely relying on pulling netsuite reports in order to perform financial analysis on your company's numbers. It adds so much more financial visibility into our analysis and subsequent month-end close reporting. That being said, I think Cube definitely needs to sort out some of its customer service mishaps - they are friendly and helpful, but don't always get the job done well for us, or in a timely manner.

We use Cube primarily for pulling data for actuals vs. budget across each department. It drives efficiency when needing information quickly during month-end reporting and feedback to each department head. There is a slight learning curve but once the data is organized accordingly and after a training session, it's an extremely intuitive platform.
  • Intuitive platform
  • Great customer success team when help is required
  • Efficient at uploading and fetching data
  • Improvement in the ability to refresh departments monthly at once instead of department by department
Cube is a great tool for FP&A budgeting and forecasting analysis. It does take some time to get set-up and learn how to use the platform but once passed the learning curve, it's a very intuitive platform. Down the road we'd like to integrate other add-ons to utilize the most out of Cube.

Cube is used for financial planning, budgeting, performance analysis, and all other monthly / adhoc tasks. Our FP&A team uses cube for all financial analysis and has proven to be incredibly valuable for our team. Cube helps our team become more efficient and organized with quick fetching of data, model version control, and collaboration.
  • Function within excel
  • Budgeting version control
  • general ledger organization
  • quick refreshes of data templates
  • importing data quickly
  • drilldown of accounts
I really enjoyed working with the support team at Cube. The implementation process was very efficient. In two weeks our company was up and running with Cube thanks to the support team. Once starting to use the product most of the features are intuitive and easy to learn. Areas that were pain points the support team worked as hard as they could to provide us with a solution.

  • Financial Reporting
  • Budgeting

  • customer support
  • workforce planning
  • daily refreshes
  • load times
In my opinion, Cube is amazing for a company that is always pivoting, business models and drivers are changing and has a small finance team. There is no need for an admin as my entire team learned it pretty fast as well as it was deployed in less than 2 weeks. I also believe bigger companies could do Cube, but understand the preference for bigger epm tools.

We use Cube to create dashboards as well as brand level P&Ls for our organization. Cube is very user-friendly, you do not require a lot of training or technical knowledge to access Cube. Perfect tool for FP&A department of a mid size company as it enables you to drilldown to the leaf level information while maintaining the high level information the executive team is interested in viewing. The most impressive aspect of Cube is that it allows you to fetch huge amounts of data within seconds and the recent enhancements Cube implemented like 'remove 0 rows from results' is a major plus in retrieving relevant data.
  • Fetch huge amounts of data within seconds
  • 'remove 0 rows from results' is a major plus in retrieving relevant data
  • Easy to use and do not require technical training
  • Limited to 8 top line dimensions. Although you can bring in as many attributes of data as you want, but I would really like Cube to increase top line dimensions to 10.
  • The ability for cross level interaction within multiples cube would be a major plus once implemented.
Spreadsheet server that easily connects to your ERP. You can create templates and they are available to you with one use to create roll-ups and scenarios. Need better data visualization on the webpage. Cross level interaction with multiple cubes.

Cube has helped simplify our monthly, quarterly, and annually FP&A work. With Cube we are able to bring together various data points from various sources and combine the data with ease. I love how much time Cube has saved us with our monthly BvA reporting. Our prior process use to be so manual now we have automated most of the manual work. Cube is also very affordable FP&A solution!
  • Integrating various data sources to one point
  • Custom Reporting
  • Works great with Google Sheets and Excel
  • While the custom reporting feature is amazing. It takes some time to wrap your brain around how to build the reporting and pull the data into your spreadsheet.
Cube is great for start ups that are growing their Finance department and need a software solution to help eliminate manual work related to FP&A work like Budgeting, BvA, and Forecasting. This product is so helpful to have and saves my company a lot of time and money!

Cube is the absolute best FP&A software dollar for dollar out there. We looked at a few different vendors for our org and none of them came close to Cube when it came to the value that we get from them now. We really wanted about 3 different things for our organization: 1. Automated financial reporting 2. Ease of financial review 3. Assistance with budget and flux models Cube was the only software that really let a bunch of us non-techy people at our organization accomplish all of our goals without sacrificing anything. Cube easily integrates into Excel and makes it so easy for us to just plug it right into a template and roll it forward. Our FP&A team has been able to really utilize this software for the best as well. Their forecasting and budgeting has been a lot faster.
  • Customer Service
  • Customization of Financial Reports
  • Ease of Integration
  • Ongoing updates
  • Continuous system testing and upgrades
  • Additional capabilities
  • Additional customization on the dashboard
  • Updating new data templates
  • Speed of refresh
I think the absolute two best scenarios that we use Cube for are our financial reporting package and the upgraded budget to actual comparisons we have been able to draw using the technology. Above all, Cube has vastly enhanced our abilities to get financial reporting done quickly and free up our time to really dig deep into various accounts. This has greatly improved the accuracy of our financial results beyond what you would even believe. I think the budget to actuals, especially with the level of variety you are able to have with the various saved budget scenarios, is super intuitive and easy to organize. Our FP&A team uses it daily in conjunction with our team, constantly adding 8 + 4's and 9 + 3's and stacking them. We can easily essentially toggle through and see how we stack up.

Cube is extremely simple to setup and easy to learn. I've worked with many FP&A tools in the past (IMB TM1 and Biznet are examples), but Cube has been my favorite thus far. TM1 is known as the powerhouse FP&A tool, but came with many tech headaches that required outsourcing of setup to consulting firms. Cube on the other hand was implemented in a matter of days, with no external consultants. The Cube setup team was top notch and was available to answer questions at a moments notice. In terms of functionality, the software is extremely easy to use and took only a few hours to understand. The website portal is very clean and well organized. Adding new date ranges, forecast or budget scenario's are just a click of a button which is a big upgrade compared to the complexity these seemingly simple tasks became with other software I've used. It works great for our month end close process, reviewing P&L details and variance analysis. Data import is just 1 click and data export into excel is quick and easy.
  • Easy to create monthly P&L variance analysis
  • Data import and export is smooth and efficient
  • Monthly reporting and analysis and easy to pull and update
  • Data refresh over multiple tabs could be improved
  • Speed at which data is imported can be improved
Cube is well suited to a smaller business trying to move away from manual excel files and data dumps to a more streamlined FP&A tool. It can be used to improve monthly review processes and budget/forecast scenario building. The setup it quick and easy and takes very little help from IT. This is an excel based product so users should be familiar with excel in order to make full use of Cube functionality.

It would be less appropriate for larger companies who expect advanced dashboards and automatic out of the box reporting. Definitely not suitable for executive level team members who have little to no understanding of excel and expect to see graphs and charts of company data created automatically for them.

  • Data uploads from our source ERP timeout sometimes - due to number of transactions - which can be frustrating, and requires follow up with Cube to reset a setting that turns off automatically during timeouts
  • Certain features (like suppressing $0 on Fetch) do not exist - however, they are planning to implement those updates (at some point!)
  • Would be helpful to be able to schedule monthly uploads of new data from the source ERP system, instead of having to do it manually
Cube has been very helpful when creating new forecast scenarios, comparing the scenarios against each other, as well as comparing the forecasted scenarios to actuals. The system allows for flexible manipulation of the dimensions in a way that lets the user dictate the output. This has been quite useful for preparing templates/reports for various levels of seniority within the company (i.e., granular vs. high level).

Cube is a useful tool for month end reporting. It allows easy comparison of month-on-month data. This makes viewing variances easy and allowing for them to be investigated promptly. While Cube is used extensively within my team I would not have as much use for it as some, however I still find it to be a helpful tool to enhance the quality of data I report.
  • Easy comparison of monthly data to highlight variances
  • Display data quickly for use in financial reporting
  • Collaborative month end reporting
  • The upload time from the accounting system to Cube can be slow
  • Sometimes difficult to drill down on differences- needs to be used in conjunction with other information
Useful for analyzing changes in different cost centers at month end to ensure all data is coded correctly. Profit and loss reporting is made easier using Cube as a tool. Identifying issues can be difficult using Cube alone which is why I think it is a helpful tool to use alongside current accounting software.

Cube is used for all FP&amp;A activities, like budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. The biggest problem it addresses is flexibility and ease of use. Previously we used excel which wasn't scalable and easily agile.<br>We needed the flexibility for FP&amp;A and many of the enterprise tools have high barriers of entry and up-front configuration needed.
  • Flexibility
  • Data management
  • Cost
  • Integration into large ERP
Excellent experience, embedded into our decision making process for performance management and budgeting. Great fit for our organisation that is highly recommended for any FP&A team looking for a simple, intuitive system.
