It ensures we are creating complex and unique passwords for every login and also ensuring that we don't have to spend the extra time to remember/manually fill in those passwords for every login. It also ensures that we can share these complex and unique passwords with only the correct and intended team members. It improves our cybersecurity hygiene.

Pros

  • Creation of unique and complex passwords
  • Storage and autofill of the passwords
  • Sharing passwords with other people

It is well suited for applications where you need high cybersecurity hygiene in terms of password management. It's also good if you're looking to save time for logins (where you are frequently logging into different websites or websites with auto timeouts). It's good for sharing passwords securely with other people.

An excellent business and personal password manager

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it as a password manager and as a share function. We obviously want to centralise where passwords are stored and ensure they are safe to rigorous standards. This allows our team to safely move on with their day, and access platforms as needed without needing to search for passwords.

Pros

  • Share across users/individuals
  • Ability to take secret notes
  • Personal and business options

Cons

  • Sometimes fills in on the wrong page
  • Interface can be mildly confusing at times
  • Generated passwords not following specific webpage rules

Likelihood to Recommend

Perfect for work scenarios to store passwords either on an individual user level or as a firm-wide platform; allows us to easily share passwords to one platform, can easily reset passwords and understand if the password is likely to be hacked or breached by lack of complexity. Less likely to be needed on a personal basis if you already have another version of password saver, but an excellent tool nonetheless.

Dashlane - Value Solution for Password Management

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dashlane to ensure that all of our Team Members are storing their internet credentials securely. Additionally, it is very important that we are able to share the credentials with each other as necessary. We use Dashlane across platforms - from Windows to Mac and from iOS/iPadOS and Android.

Pros

  • Securely storing credentials - including relevant data about each credential (notes, email, etc.)
  • Easily share credentials amongst relevant Team Members
  • Compatibility across platforms

Cons

  • Specifying "Username" vs. "Email" when initially setup login... often have to go back in a second time to have access the "Username" field.
  • More convenient storing of Security Questions, etc.
  • If it could add third party authentication service - like Symantec's VIP Access

Likelihood to Recommend

The ability for our Team Members to securely store the passwords, to access passwords across platforms, and to share credentials with relevant Team Members.

Most straightforward password manager out there.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for our employees to access certain websites so we do not have to share the password with them verbally or they save it to their own device. It helps us in the field as well as the service techs can log into our suppliers websites and order parts in the field with out them having to remember passwords.

Pros

  • Autofill
  • Password Generation
  • Secure Notes

Cons

  • Sometimes the password autofill is bugging on the phone
  • More intuitive sharing of passwords
  • Auto filling in places it shouldn't be.

Likelihood to Recommend

Dashlane excels with business customers like us because we can share all kinds of passwords and the employee never sees the password. A nice touch is the employee can use it personally as well as a little bonus to their job function. I personally have never used the "personal" plan but some of the features seems like it would be overkill for just an individual user to pay for.

Great Device and App Integration

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Dashlane to organize passwords and delegate out specific use for different work groups. The product was able to consolidate our passwords but it was also able to provide enough compartmentalized privacy that we could use it for different staff. On a personal note, I have my own Dashlane personal account, and I'm hoping to onboard my second business to this service. It has been such a wonderful resource, easy to use, secure, and a true lifesaver!

Pros

  • compartmentalized work groups
  • multiple device sync
  • multiple users
  • seamless integration

Cons

  • Tends to fight with Google Passwords when using Chrome, would be nice if we could somehow mix the two.
  • Not particularly happy with having to look up similar sites in order to connect to Dashlane

Likelihood to Recommend

Very appropriate for password management, different staff logins, and security. Great for generating random passwords and automatically saving it. It does require some overhead work to organize sites but it's worth the time. It's been appropriate for most of the scenarios I've used it for - personal, organizational, and business password management.

I work with our IT team for our firm, and together we seamlessly manage over 400 passwords. We also utilize the VPN quite often.

  • VPN works great.
  • Seamlessly share access to passwords among teammates.
  • Works everywhere I am and go.

Cons

  • On websites where I don't need it, Dashlane Password Manager can be quite intrusive.

Dashlane for an Accounting Firm - 5 stars

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Dashlane is a great resource for us that securely manages passwords across a firm with a team of 25 folks and 70+ clients. Passwords are securely shared and managed, and changes as they are made are reflected instantly. This keeps us focused on work and reduces the management of logins entirely.

Pros

  • Security and storage
  • Great VPN option
  • Sharing of PW's in real time

Cons

  • Pop up windows recommending PW's are not always intuitive
  • Suggests adding a memorized PW sometimes when not needed
  • Nothing else comes to mind!

Likelihood to Recommend

Dashlane is great for large teams - especially when PW sharing is needed. Would recommend this to other accounting firms in that small to mid size range. Can't speak to how this might play out in a larger firm, but can imagine that there is opportunity for scale by utilizing the group sharing functions.
