Docutain

Docutain SDK is a B2B product of INFOSOFT Informations- und Dokumentationssysteme GmbH. INFOSOFT, based in Koblenz, Germany, develops and distributes document management software for corporate customers and private users.

In addition, INFOSOFT is also the developer of the Docutain app, which was designed for private users and small businesses for document management. Available since 2018, continuous development is being done on the scan quality, filter functions and text recognition/data extraction in the Docutain app.

The Docutain SDK is aimed at business customers from various industries and is divided into four packages: Document Scanner, Barcode Scanner, OCR and Data Extraction. The ready-to-use SDK can be integrated into third-party mobile applications, eliminating the need for in-house development.

The vendor states that the advantages of using the Docutain SDK are the high scanning and recognition quality, but also the fast integration which includes support. Scanning and the OCR function run 100% offline, locally on the device. At no time is data forwarded to external servers or third parties. Unlike server-side providers, this feature helps to guarantee fail-safety and ensures data protection.

The SDK is presented as usable across all industries and for all company sizes. Reference customers, offered by the vendor, include Star Finanz GmbH, which has integrated the Scanner & Data Extraction SDK in its mobile banking apps StarMoney and SFirm to enable photo transfers, and a logistics software provider that has implemented the Scanner SDK in its internal application so that truck drivers can send transport documents directly from the cab to headquarters using the app.
