I use only Edsby - I have no use for a google classroom as well as an Edsby page. I try to convince and how teachers how easy it is to use only one system.
We use Edsby to allow our teachers to effectively run their classes. It enables our office staff to know which students are late and quickly contact their families to ensure safe arrival. And for our admin team, they have full visibility across all of the classes. This means that they can see class gradebooks and how students are performing.
Pros
Report Cards
Gradebooks
Groups
Cons
Better Q&A
More flexible calendering features
Better PTI scheduler
Likelihood to Recommend
I really like the way that Edsby's gradebooks integrate with the report card module. Also, the automated SIS sync makes keeping your data up to date. The PTI scheduler could be better. It has a failing when dealing with parents where the time zone on their computer is set to something other than the time zone of the school. This leads to cases where they end up missing their meeting or arriving at wrong time.

Edsby is well suited for schools of any size because of its flexibility and ease of use and bulk management characteristics. When you have a small user base then Google Classroom would be the better choice because of its better small user made management and tools. I thoroughly hope you enjoy Edsby.
Edsby is being used by all the teachers in the school and across the school district.
Edsby allows for current, on-going communication with students and parents on class work and student progress via a Lesson Planner, and a Grade Book assessments and marks program. Edsby provides a panorama profile of all of the students in one's class with parent or guardian contact names, phone numbers, and email addresses of the students. It also shows which other classes students are enrolled in and the teachers can share observations on their students or keep them "private" to themselves. The seating plan is extremely helpful as it provides a photo of each student and can easily be edited to change the seating arrangements. It has an attendance page which is easy to use and has a space where one can mark reasons for absences.
Edsby is particularly helpful for Progress Report, Mid-Term Report, and Final Report time. Instead of flipping through paper records of student progress, one can simply flip from screen to screen in Edsby to find all the information needed to write comments on students' progress and their Learning Skills and Study Habits. It saves a great deal of time. One can copy and paste from observations or directly from the assessment comment line or individual assessment.
Pros
It has a home page viewable by students in which there is a Journal space. Teachers can post reminders for example for homework or upcoming events.
EDSBY has a place where one can create Folders or Unit Assessments which students can access and if need be print themselves a copy of the assessment. These folders can be used for different unit work or for something that is used throughout the semester. For instance, information on The Writing Process is in a folder, as are major assessments.
It's easy to set up the Grade Book because of the automatic choices that are offered for semester work and culminating work. Weights can be edited and categories of assessment can be changed quickly, if needed.
If you have a problem, you can ask for help from someone in the school or in the system who knows about the program, or you can send a message to EDSBY, and they are very quick in replying with a fix.

Edsby is well-suited for day-to-day communication with students, either in the classroom, or at home. It makes planning course progression easier because of the built in day-by-day calendar for the semester. It is transferable, so the work one does in one semester can be copied over to the next, and modified as needed. Students can see the Lesson Plan which is projected onto the SmartBoard, but the font is quite small so they cannot read it from where they are sitting, so I use SmartNotes which has a larger font and then, if needed, attach that note to the Edsby day lesson planner.
We use Edsby school-wide. It is our main learning management system. It provides our students and their parents with information about their classes and activities. It allows teachers and administrators to have easy access to information on students.
Pros
Edsby is extremely easy to learn and use.
Students love the "social media" feel to Edsby.
Cons
Edsby could make the sorting and collecting of information such as attendance easier.
Enhancements to the messaging system are needed - sorting into folders, searching, etc.

Edsby is an easy to use system. It is as close to an all-in-one education solution as I have seen. Corefour continues to solicit feedback from its users and is very responsive to problems. They consistently try to build new features that educators need and want.
We use Edsby as our parent portal and as our prime communication tool. Management uses it to communicate with staff and to maintain our school calendar. Teachers use it to communicate with each other and with the parents and students in their classes. Homework is posted each day on Edsby along with any interesting news or upcoming events. Students use Edsby to communicate with their teachers or with each other. This has made our entire school much more connected and provides transparency for parents into our organization. Our goal was clarity and no surprises and Esdby has been the perfect vehicle.
Pros
Intuitive - Parents find it simple to use.
Email - because Esdby links to our SIS producing class lists and broadcast emails are a snap.
Cons
Edsby shows the last time a user logged on. Unfortunately, if someone doesn't log out you have no way of knowing if someone has seen a recent post or is really using Edsby to its potential.
Likelihood to Recommend
Some SIS (student information systems) have a communication component built in. In our case, our has since developed one but it is not as simple to use so we choose to stay with Edsby.
