EMSOW
What is EMSOW?
EMSOW is a cloud-based radiology platform that combines a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), a DICOM viewer, structured reporting, and Medical Billing in one system. Founded in 2010, it was first developed as a proprietary system for a mobile diagnostic imaging company. It has since expanded to serve teleradiology providers, doctors' offices, and billing companies.
Key Capabilities
- Cloud PACS/RIS: Image management with remote access. The Teleradiology Edition pairs the PACS with a Radiology Information System (RIS). The platform automates the workflow from image acquisition to report generation.
- Built-in DICOM Viewer: The DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) viewer displays medical images with diagnostic tools inside the platform. It is also offered as a standalone product, EMSOW Viewer, with cloud access for teleradiology.
- Structured Reporting: Customizable report templates and voice dictation support diagnostic reports. Workflow rules assign and route cases across reading teams.
- Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Management: EMSOW Billing automates claim submission and coding. It also covers insurance eligibility checks, real-time claim tracking, payment posting, and denial management. An embedded clearinghouse handles claim submission. It supports in-house billing staff, billing companies, and fully outsourced managed billing.
- Dispatch and Scheduling: Scheduling, dispatch, and a mobile app support mobile imaging operations.
