In our department, we use HttpMaster as one of the several tools for automated testing for our RESTful services, various websites, and API apps. We don't exclusively use HttpMaster, as our company's IT department is pretty relaxed, but several teams have chosen to use it with varying degrees of success depending on the application.
  • Automated RESTful service testing.
  • Automated API app testing.
  • Automated website testing.
  • Parallel Execution.
  • Introductory tutorials/examples/training.
  • MacOS support.
  • Json formatting support.
If you're looking for a tool for building and running integration tests for API apps or other website/web services, HttpMaster is the way to go. A nice feature it offers is a free version, so you can see if it'll suit your needs before paying for it. An instance where it may not be the best option is if you're needing to build and run security tests, or requirements-based testing.
  • Increased efficiency -- from ease of use.
  • Increased reliability -- from more thorough tests.
  • Automated test suites.
Other honorable mentions are Paw, Insomnia Rest Client, and HTTPie. The reason we selected HttpMaster was primarily due to its ease-of-use. It's a very easy tool to set up, it has a nice UI, it offers a free version for trial purposes, and, similar to other tools, it can do all the testing we need for our applications.
