Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We needed to help a large bank in Brazil select Axon Data Governance and privacy management tool, but the main focus was on data governance and data discovery amid more than 800 different databases within that database, the tool was able to connect with 90% of these databases quickly and cost-effectively aligned with the tool support were important points for implementation, remember that it was not the best tool to manage privacy.

Pros

  • Data Catalog
  • Integration with Different Databases.
  • Relationship between data and trading rules and trading terms.

Cons

  • High Complexity, requires training.
  • As it does not allow customization in relationships such as information separately in visual form and even in other tools of the Informatics group such as EDC.
  • Navigation is complex.

Likelihood to Recommend

The Informatics vision is already determined and with the relationships already configured, or that plasters any new type of vision or relationship between the Assets. As a result, a pedigree diagram is poor and limited with the availability of information on the screen or in reports for consultation and decision making. It has an approval and maintenance workflow that is also limited to assets already made available only by Informática. It will not be possible to see the connection of a technical, functional, and documentary line in a single flow. It allows the registration of all data referring to a DPIA and LIA, but it does not generate a report that allows the aggregation of this set of information in a single place. The tool makes information available to support a decision regarding the DPIA and LIA, but it does not make it available in a unified way as in a report.

Axon is a great data governance tool with a powerful user-friendly UI. The product is quite satisfying from a user point of view but not satisfying on a technical level. The integration to EDC is a bit difficult.

  • Bulk content upload
  • Data portability

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Due to the fact that our client's real-time critical information cannot be shared with the business user, development, and testing teams, we were seeking a technology that could ensure data security. As a result, we made use of Informatica to hide the sensitive data fields. Eventually, I can state that this application contributed to the provision of data security and protection.

Pros

  • automated sensitive field detection
  • replace critical data with dummy but real-looking data
  • threat detection
  • role based access

Cons

  • documentation not available
  • technical knowledge required

In most circumstances, production data is necessary in staged environments in order to test and validate various test cases and scenarios. Real-time data, on the other hand, comprises sensitive information such as credit/debit card numbers, user names and passwords, and any other personal details that cannot be disclosed. As a result, this tool may be used to mask vital data with fake but realistic data in order to execute a variety of actions in the development and quality assurance environments. In order to protect the privacy and security of users' data, as well as to prevent future risk.
