Jira Align is great

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Jira Align to keep track of projects as a CRM team. Individuals will use a set template to write a business task which then will be added to the kanban board. The board is split into different countries so we can easily see what is happening where. We also divide the board by area, eg. Winback/retention upsell.

Pros

  • Organises team projects
  • Helps split up different project phases.
  • Keeps all project info in one place.
  • Integrates well with other software.

Cons

  • Annoying sometimes when tickets disappear.
  • Sometimes hard to search for old tickets.
  • Files sometimes do not pull through properly.

Likelihood to Recommend

Well suited to teams who need to easily see what projects are being delivered when. Some of my older colleagues have found it more difficult to use as they have found it not so straight forward and intuitive. I think overall though this is a good tool and great for managing workloads and testing.

JIRA for productivity

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Every bug reported internally by other employees at the company, or any bug found by the customer in our tool is filed on Jira. All the work-related planning, workflow of the fix, the bug life cycle, is tracked on Jira. The visibility is cross-team and other teams can track other teams' progress. There is also a feature of EPIC where a bug can be clubbed with other bug fixes under the same umbrella.

Pros

  • Product management
  • Program tracking
  • Cross team reporting

Cons

  • An easier interface
  • A plug and play button for access requests
  • Clutter free dashboards

Likelihood to Recommend

This product is useful for a team/company working with multiple customers. Employee count anywhere larger than fifty or sixty will be benefited [from] this. Considering this product is expensive(as I’ve heard) this will not serve [many] purposes to smaller companies and startups who are having a very less customer base and [fewer...] employees.

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is used across all SDLC-related projects to track the activities and progress of the projects. It is used as a database of all the work we have done in the past, fixes made. It is used as a goal check and a planner that gives a pretty good estimate revolving around releases per sprint.

Pros

  • Notifications
  • Tagging users
  • Category of activity

Cons

  • Attachment size
  • Hidden features
  • Sensitive to mistyped keys

Likelihood to Recommend

For any starters, the ease of access at a basic level is pretty adaptable, the tasks can be easily tracked for their progress and tagging users is really easy. Sprint planning becomes a piece of cake and adding/removing tasks is really easy too. Rightly replicates the Agile SDLC. The search engine is pretty fast and gives all related Jiras to the searched keyword.

Jira-foundational tool for cross-team communication and work tracking

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Jira is used across multiple business units within our organization, but not exclusively. Jira allows us to track and communicate issues/updates/statuses/requests across many internal teams. We also use Jira to build and manage extensive workflows that allow each team to understand their work, ownership and give visibility into time tracking. Jira ensures that all technical teams can accurately track and conduct their work with visibility across the teams that are not directly involved. Jira also allows for communication across these teams for questions and requests, so that everything does not have to be managed via never-ending email chains, etc.

Pros

  • Complex workflow creation.
  • Issue ownership.
  • Issue tracking.

Cons

  • Less complicated UI.
  • More consistent email tracking/notifications.
  • Better and more intuitive cloning options.

Likelihood to Recommend

Jira is a good tool to use to manage communication for a variety of teams that do not overlap on any other platforms. Jira allows for consolidation of issues and requests that need to be touched by many different resources. Jira's tracking capabilities are decent, although could be improved. Jira is also somewhat complex to use and has a lot of untapped functionality because it is not always fully explained or intro'd to teams.
