What is HPE Juniper Access Points?

The Juniper AP Series Access Points work in conjunction with the Juniper Mist Cloud Architecture and Mist AI to collect and analyze metadata in near real-time from all wireless clients. This is to enable rapid problem detection and root cause identification with predictive recommendations and proactive correction realizing the self-driving network.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our school system has one in each room for students and staff to connect to. It allows for reliable connectivity and we very rarely have any issues - the least of all the different access points I've worked with and managed over the years. I manage them and can easily view traffic and track the few issues we have.

Every now and then an AP will go offline and need the port bounced
I wish the events log went back farther
I can't think of anything else that could be improved upon

We save money by not having to replace them early in the life cycle and haven't had to replace any before planned rewiring.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have worked with many brands of access points. HPE Juniper Access Points is my go to and preferred choice. It addresses the problem of other access points I've worked with that go out a lot or restart for no reason. Coverage and stability are never problems in my experience working with HPE Juniper Access Points.

I absolutely love the Mist platform and have no complaints.

Return on Investment

I very rarely have to physically go to an access point. The Mist platform is reliable and easy to use without going to the device.
They go out substantially less than any other brand I've worked with.
Updates are as easy as they could possibly be with the option to choose which version. They aren't known for bugs, but I generally pick not the absolute newest version and appreciate having that option.

We are a K12 School and have over 100 Juniper APs Deployed. They are very Robust and, paired with the Mist portal, they work great. The auto channeling and auto power are controlled and adjusted with state-of-the-art cloud AI. Most, if not all, problems are solved before you even know about them.

We had trouble getting Cisco access points and equipment during Covid and tried Juniper and they have been great. They are more cost effective and Mist makes them easier to manage than traditional aironet access points. We have been able to deploy them across our network and centrally mange them with more features and less licensing issues than we had with Cisco.

We implemented HPE Juniper Access Points across multiple sites and various conditions. The range is good, though having to provide our own antennas was a bit annoying, as Juniper's was way too ridiculous a cost for what would be provided. Any ol rubber ducky works well enough. Good use in our mixed environments. Replaced older Cisco equipment.
