What is Justinmind?
Justinmind is a desktop prototyping and user interface (UI) design application developed for web and mobile software products. Available for macOS and Windows, Justinmind enables user experience (UX) designers, business analysts, and product teams to create low-fidelity wireframes, interactive UI mockups, and high-fidelity functional prototypes without writing code.
Interaction Design & Functional Prototyping
Justinmind supports a range of interaction capabilities across web and mobile platforms:
- Web & Mobile Interactions: Triggers animations, page transitions, and interactive UI behaviors. Includes native touch gestures for mobile app prototypes (such as swipe, scroll, tap, pinch, and rotate).
- Conditional Logic & Dynamic Variables: Incorporates conditional logic rules and action sequences into UI components, enabling developers to simulate dynamic application behavior, multi-step user workflows, and form validation logic.
- Data-Driven Prototyping: Simulates interactive forms, data grids, and data lists that store and manipulate dynamic data during prototype simulation runs.
- Device Emulation: Provides an internal emulator alongside mobile viewer applications for iOS and Android to preview and test prototype interactions live on target devices.
Vector Design, Design Systems, & Collaboration
The application includes vector drawing tools, pen tools, and pathfinder operators for creating custom UI assets. Justinmind provides pre-built UI kits for web, iOS, and Android (including Bootstrap, MUI, Vuetify, and PrimeFaces libraries), while allowing teams to build, share, and synchronize custom UI component libraries and design systems.
For team collaboration, Justinmind supports multi-user co-editing, version history tracking, in-context comment collection on shared prototypes, and developer design handoff features that extract CSS styles, dimensions, and asset exports (HTML, SVG, and PNG). The platform also supports text-based requirement annotations directly on UI elements, with export capabilities to specification documents and integrations with Agile project management tools.
