Likelihood to Recommend
Kandji is well-suited for the following: - Onboarding remote employees (we are a remote company). Kandji offers zero-touch deployment via Apple Business Manager, making it incredibly easy to configure our Macs. -Maintaining security and compliance for Apple devices -Managing a fleet of iOS devices in the field. Where it's less appropriate: -When there is a mixed OS environment -If you have a highly custom or script-heavy environment.

We use Kandji as our MDM for our Mac fleet. It’s extra hard to use Intune as the MDM for Macs so it has been a godsend. We use it for near 100 devices.
Pros
Pushing custom scripts
New device deployment
App updates
Cons
Security features
BYOD controls
Containerization
Likelihood to Recommend
Kandji would be excellent for a company that has Mac fleets and is currently using Intune or Jamf as their MDM. Kandji is cheaper than Jamf and way easy to configure than Intune.

Likes: Integrates with ABM (Apple Business Manager). The Passport system can make it so individuals sign on to the laptop with their Google credentials, cutting down on the need to keep different passwords. (Notice I said "can" make it - and not that it does. There are SO many issues with this aspect of their product) Dislike: WARNING!!! Switching from our current MDM to Kandji they said would be easy. "We'll set you right up with an integration specialist" and it'll be "so easy." Greatly incorrect. The change took months and was a disaster at best. SO many things I had to figure out that they never mentioned, or I had to keep going back to them to get more information. "Oh, we forgot to mention that!" - said about a dozen times. Also, I had to go to our former MDM to ask them how to do it because "Kandji can only help on the Kandji side of things - not the other MDM side." Well yes, but then don't make it sound like you can and will do that part in the first place! Beyond frustrating.
Once we finally got all our employees' laptops switched to Kandji, it was problem after problem after problem. Employees getting locked out of their laptops (which was the whole reason we switched to Kandji - to prevent that from happening), employees ultimately having to factory reset their laptops to get back in, pop-ups that never go away, and continuous password sync issues. Kandji was great at helping out when there's problems, but only via chat (which is highly inconvenient and takes FOREVER). But the main problem is the numerous problems that keep coming back. The solution ends up being something different every single time, so it's hard for us to create a "How to Fix Kandji Problems" for our employees to refer to.
Also, in my experience, don't listen to any promises they give you in order to get you to sign a contract. They told us we could add licenses in smaller groups than the "25 device bucket" they said they require. However, when it actually came time to add licenses - they said it was in groups (or "buckets") of FIFTY!!! We are a small business and there is NO WAY we need to have and pay for 100 licenses when we only need 55 or even 60. They somewhat worked with us but they ultimately rescinded their promise and said "we're sorry for the miscommunication that may have happened." We switched back to our old MDM when our year [...] contract was up, causing SO MUCH work for me and all the employees.
Pros
Their pricing wasn't high per device count. However, they ultimately only add device licenses in bucket of FIFTY.
Cons
Problem after problem after problem with employees getting locked out of their laptops, (which was the whole reason we switched to Kandji - to prevent that from happening), employees ultimately having to factory reset their laptops to get back in, pop-ups that never go away, and continuous password sync issues.

We switched to Kandji for SOC2 compliance and, specifically, to help prevent laptop password issues. However, the opposite happened. There were so many "password sync issues" and people getting locked out of their laptops altogether. We had to factory reset several devices because Kandji just couldn't fix what was going on. It was absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

Kandji is a really awesome product for managing your fleet of Apple devices. They make management a breeze! With auto-apps, easy-to-configure settings and features like auto rotating FileVault keys, your fleet will be ultra secure! I hated JAMF, but loved a former product called Fleetsmith. Apple acquired Fleetsmith and shut the entire product down. Kandji is the next-generation Fleetsmith (and much, much more). I really love working with the Kandji team! Support is amazing. They've even written scripts for me in a pinch! Super fast, super knowledgeable.
Pros
Auto-apps
Auto rotating FileVault keys
Cons
Per-device scripts, blueprints needs improvements and expanded flexibility
Likelihood to Recommend
Kandji works amazing for any organization, from 10 devices to 10,000!
