Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Workspaces for secure home-based access into work applications in the browser without installing any software. It is browser-based so it can provide access to company applications and services without data loss or putting our network at risk. Since it runs in a web browser it can be used from any device and any location...even personal devices.

Pros

Access from the web browser without having to install an agent or a VPN.
Can be used on personal devices since the data is not stored on the device.
No risk of data loss since the information never leaves the company network.

Cons

Remote workers had to be familiarized with the browser-in-browser for web applications.

Likelihood to Recommend

Kasm Workspaces is a good fit for when you need to provide home-based workers access to corporate information or application, but you don't want to provide full network access through a VPN connection. It works well for when you want to ensure that data cannot be taken out of the network or you want to allow non-company devices to be used to access internal resources.
