What is Lexidesk?

Lexidesk is a conversational intake platform for consumer-facing law firms. The platform handles inbound telephone calls and website enquiries, gathers matter details, evaluates prospective clients against firm-defined criteria, and initiates the appropriate booking, transfer, or follow-up workflow.

Lexidesk operates between a prospective client’s first contact and the firm’s customer relationship management (CRM) or practice management system. It supplements these systems rather than replacing them.

Key Capabilities

  • Call and enquiry handling: Lexidesk answers inbound calls and website enquiries at any time and can manage multiple conversations simultaneously. The platform distinguishes prospective clients from existing clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and suspected spam before applying the relevant workflow.
  • Caller recognition: Returning callers can be identified by telephone number, allowing Lexidesk to continue a previous intake conversation instead of restarting the process.
  • Multilingual intake: The platform supports conversations in more than 70 languages. It can also process detention-facility and collect calls for criminal defense practices.
  • Conversation records: Each interaction can be recorded, transcribed, and summarized. These records provide intake teams with the caller’s information, matter details, and conversation history.
  • Lead qualification: Firms define their own intake questions and acceptance criteria. Lexidesk classifies each enquiry as qualified, unqualified, or requiring more information and records the reason for that classification.
  • Priority scoring: Qualified enquiries receive a score from 1 to 10 based on a firm-defined rubric. Firms can use score thresholds to determine which matters require immediate attorney review.
  • Appointment scheduling: Lexidesk books consultations through the firm’s connected scheduling system. The platform also supports paid consultations, including payment collection during booking.
  • Call transfers: Urgent or high-priority callers can be transferred to an attorney. Before connecting the caller, Lexidesk provides a spoken summary so the attorney receives the relevant context.
  • Automated follow-up: Prospective clients who do not schedule during the initial conversation can enter an email and SMS follow-up sequence. The sequence uses firm-approved content and stops when the recipient books a consultation.

Intake Management and Reporting

Lexidesk consolidates telephone and website interactions in a central dashboard. Each record can contain the recording, transcript, summary, qualification result, priority score, and acquisition source.

By connecting campaign-source data with intake outcomes, the platform helps firms evaluate which marketing channels produce qualified enquiries and scheduled consultations. This extends reporting beyond basic call-volume measurements.

Integrations

Lexidesk integrates with legal and general-purpose business systems, including:

  • Clio Manage
  • Clio Grow
  • Lawmatics
  • Actionstep
  • Assembly Neos
  • HubSpot
  • HighLevel

Additional workflows can be configured through webhooks, Zapier, Make, and n8n. These connections allow intake records and outcomes to pass into existing CRM, practice management, marketing, and automation systems.

Implementation and Administration

The Lexidesk team configures intake scripts, qualification criteria, routing logic, and follow-up content during onboarding. Configurations are evaluated through simulated conversations and live test calls before deployment.

Workflow changes are version-controlled and can be tested before release. The platform supports A/B testing, rollback, and regression testing to reduce the risk that a change to one intake rule affects other workflows. According to the vendor, most implementations are completed within several days. The onboarding contact continues as the firm’s success manager after launch.

Audience and Use Cases

  • Audience: Consumer-facing law firms with intake, marketing, or attorney teams responsible for evaluating inbound matters.
  • Primary use cases: After-hours call handling, prospective-client screening, consultation booking, urgent attorney transfers, multilingual intake, and follow-up with callers who do not immediately schedule.
  • Practice areas: Lexidesk is intended for practices in which prospective clients commonly make first contact by telephone, including family law, immigration, personal injury, criminal defense, estate planning, and employment law.
  • Poor-fit scenarios: The platform may be less suitable for corporate or commercial firms, practices with little inbound enquiry volume, or firms that require only basic message-taking.

Limitations

Lexidesk does not replace a legal practice management system and does not provide legal advice. The platform is designed to collect information and route matters to qualified legal professionals.

Lexidesk can capture opposing-party names but does not perform automated conflict checks. Law firms remain responsible for conducting conflict reviews through their established systems and procedures.
