Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Litmos exclusively for all staff training, for both delivery and compliance tracking. I manage the entire database for approximately 400 active users. Litmos offers options from Instructor-led training to interactive self-paced trainings. Our organization has two different business entities that are overseen by two different governing bodies, which means we have staff with various different training requirements and Litmos helps us to manage those to ensure that staff are assigned the correct trainings.

Pros

Content author tool is great for organizations with small budgets who can't afford a separate interactive content creation tool.
Their customer service is responsive and thorough. The ticketing portal facilitates great communication and follow-up.
Litmos is responsive to customer needs and requests and is always adapting to help fulfill customer needs.

Cons

Reporting is always a challenge for any LMS administrator, but Litmos tries to expand their reporting functionality to meet customer needs.
Some components of the instructor-led training platform are a bit cumbersome and require multiple clicks to perform tedious functions.
It would be helpful if more processes could be performed in bulk actions instead of one at a time.

We use it for our participants and prospects to learn more about the SDGs. We have about 250k users who use the platform and over 1k courses. We also have a lot of offices around the world so we have teams and brands that utilize those spaces. We also use it for internal resources for onboarding on being team admins or Salesforce how tos.

Myself, HR, and Risk Manager were new to this platform. I was very thankful for the quick response to getting us in to get training and jumping on a zoom call. They were eager to answer any questions we had. It was a little difficult to understand, but was willing to reshow us everything that we needed to see. Also jumped on a second call with us. Will still continue to get training the more we do.

Pros

The learner-side UI is simple and not cluttered
The Support team and resources to address issues are well structured
The Customer Success and Professional Service Teams are open to collaborating and presenting new use cases to optimize Litmos usage
There are rarely any performance degradations

Cons

The reporting functions could be simplified and more customizable (custom admin dashboards)
Major product updates need better support to address client issues

Litmos is a robust LMS with a lot of depth however there is a slight learning curve to understand its navigation esp as an admin and a learner. Since reporting is also hard to extract, it can alienate users

We have specialized training required to be in compliance with State regulations. As a non-profit group, our funds for training are limited and we have 3 shifts of staff and multiple locations. The Litmos LMS allows us to create and share material with our small affiliates and to have first line supervisors see training progress in real time.

Allowing frontline Supervisors to see their staff's progress
Automate reports to get out to all levels of supervision and Administration
Conduct ongoing trainings and record training event, to allow users to become more proficient in the time that works best for them
Customer Success Partners to share new improvements and to assist with problems.

Cons

Only limited people can access the Support site, so help articles need to be downloadable and printable- can be shared with IT or others who need the information
Better search engine in Litmos University to find topics covered within a training
Equivalent courses need to be assigned without staff getting reminders for all. Important to be able to set up so taking a spanish version or english version class meets the requirements, without being assigned for both choices. We are required by NY State to offer Sexual Harassment in 8 languages.

Likelihood to Recommend

Limos is great for introducing a topic, and taking refreshrs yearly on info already know. Some courses are better suited to a live course, with discussion and questions. We support people with complex medical needs, and review with a nurse is critical.

We use Litmos to deliver and track training compliance across our organization. Most of our workforce is remote (1200 employees). It is a critical part of our onboarding process as well. We can customize learning tracks and report user completions and outcomes to the supervisor through individualized, automated reports.

Pros

Automates course assignments by job role.
Automatically re-assigns course that are required annually.
It has an internal course authoring tool.

Cons

I would like to see more specific reporting capabilities from the reporting engine.
I would like more customization for reminder email.

We use the gamification feature. Learners are motivated to complete training, see their names rank highly on the leaderboard, and earn completion badges to display on their profiles. We also used the learner upload feature to record and track annual training renewals offered outside of Litmos. Supervisors can easily monitor their staff's training status with appropriate access levels. They can see only the information they need.

We use Litmos for all of our training matrix requirements, from our mandatory E learning requiring completion, to registration of in person training sessions. We also house other event bookings on the platform for staff to book themselves onto. The platform allows us to have accurate reporting available to us in a quick manner when needed.

Pros

The content creator model is easy to use and provides lots of oppurtunities for creating engaging training.
The reporting function is highly detailed and easy to use.
The look and feel of the platform is slick and easy to navigate, the branding is consistent and makes it enjoyable to engage with.

Cons

I would like to see more creative options available in the content creator tool.
I think there is scope to improve functionality for managers to book their teams onto in person sessions.
I would like to see more integration with other platforms such as creating teams lobbys.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is easy to use, consistantly delivering an engaging service with high level functionality. You can easily create learning on the platform but it also works well at having learning uploaded in other formats such as SCORM files being added from alternate providers of learning. The service support is also always efficient and quick to resolve any issues that may come up.

Car Wash franchise , 275 locations and growing. We use Litmos as our online training platform for all team members at each site. Over 3500 users currently.

Pros

Clear homepage - easy to know what the Learner needs to do next
Simple navigation around the site
Great teams to work with for onboarding and support

Cons

REPORTS - as a franchise, there is a severe lack of functionality for our hierarchy structure. Regional leaders have disappointingly limited options for multi-store reporting, even on simple metrics like completion % A major issue for us, and it delayed the launch to our franchise until our own internal team used API to build our own dashboards.
Inability to impersonate a Site Leader. Limits our ability to help. I know there are concerns over security, but there should be permissions based workarounds so we can help our franchise site leaders.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Litmos for onboarding training. We use it to track completed courses and compliance. We use it for program management to ensure all our delivery team members are trained in and knowledgeable about our programs.

Pros

Onboarding new clients, white glove.
Continues to make updates and improvements.

Cons

4 different log ins to use Litmos (aha! portal, customer ticket, university, my instance).
VILT in Teams set to not have cameras or chat turned on - have to manually adjust.
Attending a VILT should move module to complete as default.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have seen improvements with custom roles and permissions - before this, we had many problems with collaboration issues across departments. would be a higher recommendation, but have been asking for improvements with VILT for over 12 months. haven't seen it yet. told one thing by the support team and another thing by the development team. still can't get answers or improvements.
