Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We chose a new UEM solution, so I ran the trial version of this product and compared it with other solutions. We need to manage near by 500 devices (498 Windows 2 MacOS) And 400 Android devices and 2 iOS After test it has really nice features like keep the third party appp updated. Before Endpoint Central, it took me 2 days per week; now I have 16 hours per week free.

Pros

Patch Management.
Manage Devices.
Integration to AD.
Integration with Knox.
Computer Configuration.

Cons

Mismatch between documentation and real product.
Features should be available to open trough Admin panel not a support request.
I do not see more.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think most scenarios are well-suited to Endpoint Central. Keep third-party applications upgraded, OS Deployment, Report Endpoint with vulnerabilities, check compliance with CIS, but it is much more, internal app deployment, much more compliance policy, Integration with Office 365 Conditional Access, Endpoint Configuration, Works fine with custom script even when you don't know any scripts, there are plenty of templates.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Endpoint Central is vital for us in managing endpoint devices. It's primarily used as a central hub. Any configuration that can be done manually in an operating system can be automated by Endpoint Central, just considering its configuration module.It's a very comprehensive solution for both vulnerability management and patch deployment. This is one of the most frequently used modules for keeping our devices updated.Similarly, the application control, USB device control, and BitLocker modules complete the core of our device security management.We highly recommend Endpoint Central.

More Details of packages deployed to know why it fails.

we are currently using this tool for more than 2 years so far it's good but at certain place they really need to improve the future development more as some other endpoint tool are really has good feature for end user experience and here I need to ask or request for development

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the remote control to connect to machine and help customers. This is useful when we need to troubleshoot items visually or train the user how to use software. This allows us to quickly address issues and maintain good customer relations.
Patch management is also used to keep the system up to date and patched

More reporting options would be useful. EPC needs more fields to build reports on. Sometimes if chat does not solve the issue, the ticket can get long and may take a week to solve. I enjoy the prompt support. Chat support is quick and helpful. Items are typically solved with one session.

We use it for automatic patch installtion for Microsoft Defender definition updates, third-part softwares and Microsoft cumlative and security updates.

It enhances automation specifically in patches installation, the scope is all Windows workstation and servers for now

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Endpoint Central primarily as a software management and deployment tool. The tool was purchased as an all-in-one solution to fulfill our needs for OS deployments and patch management. The OS deployment tools allow us to image and control software distribution. The patch scheduling and management tools help us stay in compliance. The inventory tools let us see where all of our items are connected and what software is on each system. We can also block and prohibit certain executables from running to maintain control of our devices.

Cons

Too many side applications. To get full functionality out of your Manage Engine you need to get other Manage Engine products. For AD support you need to get an AD central item. For auditing you need Audit Plus. Which wouldn't bother me if the products somehow worked together, which they do not.
No Built In Auditing. See point number one.
No Backstage State for Remote Control. Other products like ScreenConnect allow you to backstage control items to not disturb users but still access essential tools on workstations and servers. There is no such feature with Manage Engine Remote Control. Instead you have to use their web based system manager which sometimes works, reports false successes, and has a bare minimum controls for PowerShell and command line.
Once Daily Inventory Updates, otherwise you have to update your inventory manually.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you need to just manage some endpoints with little regard for reporting or special configuration sets this software is good. If you need to quickly look up a workstation location or IP address the web interface is simple and can get you what you need quickly. If you want to deploy emergency updates or patches and give users the ability to postpone or not postpone the implementation the tools are god like.

Initially used for the remote distribution of application packages, the solution now manages matrix deployment, remote distribution, updates, and IT infrastructure security. It allows me to manage workstations, smartphones (iOS and Android), and servers on Windows and Linux distributions. I found this solution after a proof of concept (POC) of market solutions, but its scope has now exceeded the initial POC.

Cons

Prioritizing the flow between package deployments and updates. In my case, application packages must take priority over updates.
Reconnecting the remote control port after restarting the computer.
In dynamic groups, the first parameter is always "OR", which can cause problems when selecting the remote desktop.

Having used a multitude of solutions, I can say that ManageEngine Endpoint Central encompasses the vast majority of the tools necessary to manage an information system. Its agent-based operation enables controlled communication and near-instantaneous administration. It also includes tools essential for technicians, such as remote access, remote control, and access to computer system tools.

We use ManageEngine Endpoint Central as a centralized endpoint management platform to manage and secure our corporate environment. The solution is primarily utilized for patch management, software deployment, BitLocker management, asset management, remote access, and endpoint compliance across our infrastructure. That is a powerful solution, and we love to work with it.

Based on our experience, ManageEngine Endpoint Central is well-suited for several operational and security scenarios, but there are also cases where it may be less appropriate depending on the organization’s needs. 1. Centralized Patch Management in Distributed Environments. Endpoint Central performs very well in environments with multiple locations or remote users.Standardization of Endpoint Configurations. It is highly effective for enforcing standard configurations across corporate devices. Remote IT Support and Helpdesk Operations. The built-in remote troubleshooting tools make it ideal for IT support teams.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for all clients and servers.We use it for image deployment, application installation, patch management, and remote connection tasks.We perform all personnel PC installations via OS deployment.We have separate images for each model.We deploy the latest updates released each month first to test devices and then to live clients and servers. We perform mass restarts at scheduled times with the custom groups we create.When we perform mass application installations, we do so with Endpoint Central.

Pros

Creating images and installing these images on devices booting from the network.
Managing Windows updates to determine which ones should be installed and when they should be installed for different groups.
Performing bulk registry entries or installing applications.
The ability to obtain real-time reports including software or hardware specifications.

Cons

It needs to have an editable dashboard; we can only use its own dashboards.
It installs some updates even though the date I specified hasn't arrived yet.
When an update fails, it should provide more detailed information about the reason for the error.
We should be able to move the images we obtain with OS Deploy to a different path.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's suitable for Windows Update, but it doesn't provide the convenience I want because the application needs to be closed when upgrading to a new version of Windows or updating Office. Apart from that, it offers great convenience for updates and application installations. It also greatly simplifies image creation and deployment.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have been using ManageEngine Endpoint Central for many years now to complete patch management, remote computer support, pushing out configurations, and tracking inventory. We've also added features for malware protection, DLP, and browser security. The remote support features allow for viewing and controlling a users computer, as well as various tools to modify things in the background like the registry or files without interrupting a user.

Pros

Patch Management feature makes it easy to select which patches you want pushed out and to what computers or domain. The patch rollout can be scheduled for after a specific time or deployed immediately.
The Remote Control feature makes it easy to remote into computers and view and control the screen almost as if you were sitting in front of it physically. You can also view multiple screens if the computer has multiple screens attached. It has the ability to wake up a sleeping computer too.
Configurations make it easy to push out software, registry changes, folder redirections, and many other kind of settings.

Cons

I'd like to see more options for pushing out complex software installs that have multiple items to select or input during the installation process (often resort to manually installing if an install fails when required switches are incorrect or missing in command).
I'd the configuration for installing printers to be smoother. I've had some difficult getting certain printer models to install by configurations in the past. But I'm not even sure if it's a fault in the program or something I wasn't doing correctly.
I'd like to see more options for announcement frequency. Such as being able to select announcement pop ups to occur only on certain days at a certain time (currently any daily announcement goes out every day, even on days we're closed).

Likelihood to Recommend

For me, the patch management feature and the ability to control remote computers either for maintenance purposes or for assisting users has been the biggest benefit of using ManageEngine Endpoint Central for us. We also use additional features like Malware Protection and Endpoint DLP. ManageEngine Endpoint Central also makes keeping inventory of computers and software simple by just adding them to the scope of management.
