MetronHR

MetronHR is a web-based HR application for small and medium-sized companies that combines time tracking, absence management, shift and staff scheduling, and digital employee records in a single system. It is developed and operated by AMNAU GmbH in Hanover, Germany, and is aimed at companies with roughly 5 to 100 employees, typically in trades, care, hospitality, retail, logistics, medical practices, pharmacies, agencies and law firms.

Time tracking

Employees record working time through the browser, an iOS or Android app, or a wall-mounted terminal that reads an RFID or NFC badge. The terminal buffers entries when the network is unavailable and transmits them once the connection returns, which allows it to be used in workshops, kitchens and care facilities with unreliable connectivity. Break and rest-period rules of the German Working Hours Act are applied as entries are recorded, and changes to a time entry are logged with editor and timestamp on the Professional plan.

Absence management

Vacation, sick leave and special leave run through configurable approval workflows with entitlement and balance tracking. Approved absences can be published as an iCal feed and subscribed to in Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, and they feed directly into scheduling conflict checks.

Scheduling

Shift plans are validated on every assignment against rest periods, approved absences and overlapping assignments before publication. Below shift level, a time-grid roster supports staffing rules and qualification requirements, which is intended for practices, pharmacies and workshops where a full shift plan is too coarse a unit.

Records, accounts and reporting

Overtime accounts support payout or time off in lieu and configurable warning thresholds. Digital employee records hold master data, documents and reminders. Project, customer and service time can be tracked against budgets with a status indicator. Reporting produces a monthly overview per employee with target hours, actual hours and balance, exportable as Excel, CSV or PDF.

Deployment and data protection

MetronHR is delivered as a cloud service and is not offered for self-hosting. Data is stored in German data centres and a data processing agreement is available. The product reads no biometric data and records no location history, and employees can view their own hours, overtime and remaining leave without requesting them from an administrator. The interface is available in German and English.

Pricing

Two published plans are billed per user and month: Team at 5 EUR and Professional at 10 EUR, both cancellable monthly, with an Enterprise plan on request. There is no free plan. A 14-day trial is available without a credit card, and there is no setup fee or mandatory training.

Boundaries

Payroll processing, recruiting and invoicing are deliberately not part of the product. Companies that require those functions in the same system are outside the intended use case.
