What is Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management?

Microsoft's Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management allows users to use predictive insights and intelligence from AI and Internet of Things (IoT) across planning, production, inventory, warehouse, and transportation management to maximize operational efficiency, product quality, and profitability. It replaces the SCM capabilities of the former Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (Dynamics AX), splitting them off from Dynamics 365 Finance, in order to provide more flexible pricing and allowing customers to buy only what they need.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I’m a D365 functional consultant. I have implemented this product in multiple organizations, streamlining supply chain processes: Procure to Pay, Quote to Cash, Advanced Warehouse Management, Production Control, Inventory Management, and Product Information Management. I have implemented all SCM modules as per business needs.

Pros

Procure to Pay.
Quote to cash.
Advance warehousing.
Finance Management.
All kind of reporting.
Integration with other apps.

Cons

Supply chain reports: there must be some more Power BI dashboards that users can design inside D365.
The packing process in Advance warehousing needs to be simpler; currently, it is time-consuming.
HR and payroll must be design for middle eastern region.
Rental Management is missing in D365.

Return on Investment

More business Operation visibility.
Departments have to follow same protocols.
Make team members more efficient and motivated.

Analytics can be better.
Can have more features for large enterprise like SAP SCM.

As a user for any service or software, It is important that it should be stable, Coming to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, My personal feeling is that is it is pretty much stable and always updates are available, However due to some issues which might be technical or something happens in back, It feels a little bit lags in terms of performance. Talking about its core capabilities, It is above other SCM applications in the same segment. when it comes to manufacturing and distribution it is a power platform which fixes the common issues and helps further to generate the reports which is a little bit glitchy here

Pros

Up time and Environments: Environment is always monitored and has a high up time
Updates: It is continuously updated with new features and bug fixed along with new legislations
Ita core capabilities are great for both manufacturing and distribution purposes.

Cons

Data Integration: It needs to be improved, as it has been weaken over the years
Cross system integration as a point needs to improved
Reporting facilities within the system impacts the user experience and performance

Return on Investment

I don't have such Ideas on it , However it has positive response from my colleagues.
