prior to Visual Studio Code, I was using Sublime Text, which was not the most effective in terms of third-party libraries and complex debugging, so I switched to Visual Studio Code where I got a positive as a developer. it is having all the features and third-party libraries to deal with different kinds of extensions that help you to build your application. and it also provides flexibility to switch or code with different languages.

Far better than Eclipse IDE. Eclipse takes so much space, and it is slow. Whereas Vs Code IDE is so fast and having good UI as compared to Eclipse. I help to work efficiently and is also highlight the syntax in good way by recommending in editor. Microsoft Visual Studio Code editor is a lightweight editor.
[Microsoft] Visual Studio Code beats the competition due to its extensibility. Their robust extensions architecture combined with the plethora of mostly free extensions written by the community can't be beaten. The fact that this tool itself is provided by a world-recognized company, Microsoft, free of charge is phenomenal. The goodwill garnered by them is immeasurable. Other tools I've used were missing features or were just too rigid, too complicated, or too unsophisticated for my liking. The fact that VS Code is easy to mold to my will with the right extensions seals the deal.

VS Code is the quickest and best editor available
VS Code is much more lightweight than IntelliJ and Eclipse and is certainly comparable to Atom. I find that for most of my projects, VS Code is the most stable option, and is generally the quickest to boot. Generally, trying out all four can't hurt, but VS Code has been the most consistent for my own usage.

Microsoft Visual Studio Code is a combined form of the above-mentioned products i.e. one product, many applications. Eclipse is suitable for java development, PyCharm is mainly for Python development whereas Android Studio is for Android applications development but in Microsoft Visual Studio Code, we can set up any of this language easily, and also other languages like PHP, go, ruby can be implemented with ease. So, this software stacks up against them.

Microsoft VS Code is extremely customizable with needs. So, features like syntax highlighting, bracket-matching, auto-indentation, well-integrated terminal, and side-by-side editing are powerful. Even these features are given free with Microsoft VS code. PyCharm and WebStorm use high CPU usage to run IDEs. But, Microsoft VS Code is a lightweight IDE and needs low CPU usage to run.

Visual Studio Code - the best, free IDE for JavaScript projects
We had better luck with VS Code than Atom. We tried to like Atom pretty hard, but it just had some clunkiness and some unintuitive things that caused us to give up on it. Webstorm seems to be a much more capable competitor. The main pro of VS Code over Webstorm is that VS Code is free and Webstorm costs money. I will give a review of Webstorm later.

Amazing tool that fills nearly all your needs!
Microsoft Visual Studio Code has turned out to be far more powerful than the original promises of the Atom editor. Microsoft Visual Studio Code supports large files much better than Atom, and more extensions are available for language support. NetBeans has been a slower application to run, supports fewer languages, and does not have as simplified an interface as Microsoft Visual Studio Code.
All the previously listed are incredible development environments that perfectly fulfill this function, but [Microsoft] Visual Studio Code goes one step ahead by providing flexibility, customization and adaptability to development environments with its own methodology, for all this productivity. of the work team is greatly increased helping to achieve the objectives set in the organization.
Visual Studio Code stacks up nicely against Visual Studio because of the price and because it can be installed without admin rights. We don't exclusively use Visual Studio Code, but rather use Visual Studio and Visual Studio code depending on the project and which version of source control the given project is wired up to.
When you start using [Microsoft Visual Studio Code], it lands more on the "text editor" side of the spectrum, akin to Vim/Emacs/Sublime. Aligned with this, it's fast and easy to install and setup, and competes with the best of them as a great general purpose tool. But then it surpasses that group with its huge ecosystem of extensions, which provide strong integrations for most coding platforms and build environments-- in this way, it stretches (as needed) into being a full-featured IDE. But then unlike the "big" IDEs, as it grows it retains is super fast startup time and ease of use-- it doesn't get bogged down.
Even in an environment where there is a large IDE platform in use, VSCode is a complementary tool that fits in and nicely handles the plethora of files and code types that your main IDE isn't specialized in.

Best tool for the Developers
There are many IDEs available but I don't think anyone is better than Visual Studio Code. Most others are language dependent softwares while VS Code supports all the languages. There are others popular available like Atom, Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, and WebStorm but none of them are as good as this.
In all honesty, I've not even looked back at any of these alternatives since switching to Microsoft Visual Studio Code a few years ago, there simply isn't the need. For all I know they're all absolutely fantastic, but at the time of switching (and consistently since) Microsoft Visual Studio Code was that much better than the other options available that I've not had reason to look elsewhere for a code editor. This is due to, in large part, the fact that you can concentrate on your actual code rather than the configuration or shortcomings of your editor.

A simple and light weight editor for developers.
When it comes to UI and light weightiness, Visual Code is the winner. But when it comes to Intelli-Sense and autosuggestion IntelliJ works better in my view.
Microsoft Visual Studio Code wins hands down when it comes to light, easy, free yet super powerful. This is the perfect balance for that. If you need to manage a complete end to end project with team collaboration I would recommend Visual Studio IDE or Eclipse if you need to compile Java.
User interface and integration to other tools is very straightforward and easy to use. You can find [third] party [development components] very easy for Microsoft. You can code a variety of applications using the same framework without installing any plugins or extensions (Web Applications, Desktop applications, Web Services applications, Command Line Applications).
