We use it for Content Management with a focus on improving search, big data classification and records/documentation management to support all the paperwork regarding our business. When you generate thousands of documents, scans and other pdf from multiple departments, it's hard to keep up the classification where every department will have their own ways of doing things, from good to really bad. OpenText Application Content Management allows us to make sure this will never happen again in the sense that everything could be searched and easily found.

We use OpenText ApplicOpenText Application Content Management (formerly ApplicationXtender) Content Management (formerly Application Xtender) in our organization, as mentioned below. As I am part of the sales team we need to send proposals (Documents) to differOpenText Application Content Management (formerly ApplicationXtender)ent clients on daily basis, as well as we need to send invoices to our existing clients so open text helps in the generation of the automatic invoice as well as it helps in document management and storage and creates a folder with client and name.

Pros

  • As I mentioned in the previous question, OpenText helps us in Invoice generation and invoice verification which makes our workflow very easy.
  • OpenText provides customization options and different versions are available so it can be deployed to different departments of our company.
  • Its very easy to use.

Cons

  • As we use outlook for mail so integration with outlook is quite difficult

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It offers enterprise-wide functionality to cover the need for content management and content-oriented workflow. Previously users were saved into a chaotic network folder structure and some of the information was placed in the user's workstations. It was really hard to get the right information. With this application now everything is centralized and easy to manage across the organisation.
