Cost-effective and reliable, albeit it is not one of the big names
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Oracle [SD-WAN (Talari)] to connect our branch offices to our two main datacenters using two separate ISPs. This is used across the entire organization and allows us to provide private connectivity between sites without having to purchase expensive and high-touch private circuits, such as MPLS, VPLS, point-to-point, etc.
Pros
- Set it and forget it
- Very reliable platform
- Truly makes Internet connectivity like private connectivity
Cons
- Talari Aware management solution very complex to set up useful dashboards
- Management interface seems overly complex (7.3), though this was supposedly improved in 9.0
Likelihood to Recommend
Product has been around for a long time and the stability and features are excellent. Now that Oracle owns it, its long-term viability is both improved (given Oracle isn't going anywhere anytime soon), but all the layers of bureaucracy and auditing that Oracle is famous for comes along with it.
