Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SD-WAN (Talari)
We used it as a WAN router to connect a remote office to HQ. In my experience with Talari, I think it does an excellent job connecting our remote offices. Talai could solve our link issue. We do have a bunch of Link/los issues with our ISP, but we never were able to use it as is supposed to be used. I mean you should use two or more links (MPLS + internet, etc.) to able to fully take advantage of Talari link failure. Even only with only link connected it still gave us a lot of visibility, specially during link failure troubleshooting.
- Failsafe- ability to aggregate low cost link and increase enterprise WAN bandwidth and also provide safe failor over in case of link interruption, with almost zero drops. In a lab test for voice it works perfectly for voice.
- Config Change without system interruption (change config and apply it during Maintenance windows).
- Ability to completely replace Core Router Functions - Especially in dynamic routing (add more routing protocols like EIGRP and also expand routing features like a prefix link, route map, and add more power routing capability to be able handle lar routing table).
- High Port Speed. Device to be able to support 10G, 40G or even 100G port speed on both ways of communication.
- lowes oue WAN links Cost
- Lower our Tshoot time /remote office
- Citrix SD-WAN (formerly Netscaler SD-WAN) and Cisco Meraki SD-WAN
I would say they are pretty close in service delivery and the way they manage link performance. The only thing I would say Citrix is more expensive, but I like Citrix support better ( experience with Citrix LB). We have been using Meraki for a while. It delivers what we expected [and is] very easy to set up. We used Z1 for removing a VPN, which at glance is still an SD WAN. Very stable [and] the only problem I'm facing is the ability to design it better due to lack of documentation in my view.
