PDFTables

PDFTables is made by The Sensible Code Company, based in London. PDFTables focus is converting tables accurately from PDF documents to XLSX, CSV or XML. The tool also converts the text around the tables. PDFTables is available as a web service, via API or as an On-Premises Enterprise solution. The Enterprise solution allows customers to convert sensitive data securely within their own network, ensuring a secure process. The API allows batch conversion and the option to convert only selected pages from within the PDF document. PDFTables says it is a little different to other converters as it specifically focuses on tabular data within the PDF, using an algorithm that 'sees' the structure.

The company says it boasts an average conversion rate of 3 pages per second, and when the cores are not as busy, the pages will be converted in parallel, processing up to 12 pages per second. The web service is securely hosted on AWS, in its own Virtual Private Cloud. All transactions are end-to-end encrypted between the browser and the server processing the data with HTTPS. The company will delete all data that has been uploaded and not retain any of it after 72 hours.

PDFTables API can be used on any platform and OS as long as you have the capabilities to call a simple web based API, from any programming language. They offer 75 free pages on the Cloud solution and a 1 month free trial of the Enterprise solution.
