AgilePlace has certainly made the Agile ways of working easier with better visibility of backlogs, approved work, work in progress, etc. On top of that, creating parent child relationships across different boards, makes it a great tool to work with orchestrate layers of work.

Cons

  • All and all there is little to no scope for improvement because Planview's Product Owner of the tool is doing all that's needed to keep the tool up to date with continuous improvement.

Likelihood to Recommend

Our team is using AgilePlace to keep a track of our Product backlogs, key deliverables and blockers and helping us making key decisions based on value, time criticality, risk reduction, effort & results.

The analytics that are available with Planview AgilePlace enable the teams to see their progress with Burndown Reports, Speed, Planned Percent Complete to name just a few.Another great part of using Planview's AgilePlace it the ability to link Portfolio Boards in Planview AgilePlace with Planview Portfolios which will enable your organization to connect your strategic plan and funding to your Agile delivery seamlessly. There are so many great features with Planview AgilePlace from the ability to complete your Agile Planning right on the board to the reports available, OKR's, WSJF etc. Give it a try.

  • Customizable Boards
  • Ability to connect the strategy and funding using Planview Portfolio with Planview AgilePlace.
  • Visual Reports directly on the board

  • Broaden the search functionality for active members of the board to be able to search for any field on their account.

Likelihood to Recommend

Planview AgilePlace is very well suited for a team using Full SAFe when combined with Planview Portfolios.

Because the boards are so customizable, Planview AgilePlace can also be used for teams that are hybrid - part Waterfall and part Agile.

If you need to integrate Planview AgilePlace with other tools to share data bi-directionally, Planview Tasktop Hub is an excellent tool to do the job.

AgilePlace - great tool!

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

General task management, prioritization of projects, communication of status and issues. Different teams use it in various ways - some are very sophisticated and use it to manage workflows. Other groups use it as bare Kanban boards. That's the beauty of the tool - you can use it as a simple tool or tie it into mature project management methodologies.

Pros

  • Ease of organization of projects.
  • Easy to manage task lists.
  • Allows for customizing cards/boards.

Cons

  • Need to be able to CUSTOMIZE content of notifications.
  • I need to be able to add a status to indicate that the item was closed without being done - for example, it was no longer needed, but my only option is to say it was done.

Likelihood to Recommend

I find it particularly easy to keep track of my work items and task lists. It would be great to trigger a notification on demand to prompt a user to finish or update a card, especially if a due date has been exceeded.

A nice tool to have in order to help teams be informed of tasks in process and in the backlog

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Currently we use AgilePlace to visually see the tasks/initiatives that a team is responsible for. This is typically specifically to one team and is not work that crosses teams, at this time. This ensures that we are aware of all tasks/initiatives that are currently in flight along with what is in the backlog. Prior to AgilePlace some teams captured this information in Excel or Sharepoint. This left issues for true collaboration, easy visibility along with capturing supporting documentation.

Pros

  • Visual kanban board that is easy to customize as the team's needs change
  • Real time collaboration allowing teams working remotely to stay up to date on current status
  • Allows versatility for how a team needs to capture details on the work at hand by utilizing card icons, card types and custom data points
  • Card scoring is easy to setup and provides the team the ability to set values to better prioritize their backlog
  • Ability to add card automation to take out some of the repetitive manual actions

Cons

  • Ability to create & access in app reporting
  • Better administration of setting up & updating user access to boards

Likelihood to Recommend

AgilePlace is a great way for teams, or individuals, to bring visibility to the work in process and in their backlog. The color coding and icon use helps to quickly analyze the type of work or status of the work. The product team is doing a good job at listening to their user's feedback and implementing improvements. Where it falls short is when reporting needs to occur.
