What is Quest QoreStor?

QoreStor facilitates the adoption of most storage types, uniquely including cloud object storage like native object storage. QoreStor’s advanced compression and deduplication algorithms aim to slash storage requirements and costs anywhere QoreStor is deployed, even in the cloud. QoreStor includes ransomware protection capabilities to protect backup data. QoreStor replaces the Quest DR Series the former Dell / Quest backup and recovery solution, featuring data deduplication.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

QoreStor connects to our Backup system and serves as a repository for it. Backup job data is sent to QoreStor and it processes Deduplication and compression, then sending the backup jobs to cloud replication. The use of this system compared to conventional backup methods saves about 75% of the overall storage size in the cloud. This reduces our cost of cloud storage and the load on data throughput.

  • It would be nice to have some limited integration into the KACE SMA product
  • The appliance is low resource use and virtual, but better access to system settings would be nice.
