Engineering Student Team Project Management.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a student team that is making a Biosensor for Levodopa, the main drug for Parkinson's disease. We have a lot of different parts of the technology to work on, and Quire helps us manage the deadlines and taskings, as well as figure out how much work there is to do and plan the project out.

Pros

  • Project Planning
  • Task Management
  • Visualization of the Project

Cons

  • Minor UI bugs.
  • Sometimes unintuitive entry order.
  • Calendar view

Likelihood to Recommend

Well-suited for small teams. It's feature-rich and simple, but doesn't have the bug-tracking capabilities of heavier tools like Jira. Low setup overhead, so it's easy to jump in and start quickly! Best Gantt chart experience I've had in a while.

The go-to software for task management

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Quire to manage research projects. The nature of my research project is diverse, and I need a task-management software to help me assign tasks, record the progress, and share it my mentees. I also use to tag function to document the loading of a task, and it indirectly help me utilize my time more efficiently.

Pros

  • Sublist
  • nice interface
  • Tage function

Cons

  • Tutorial for advanced features
  • Price
  • Integration with other software

Likelihood to Recommend

First of all, collaborative research projects. Quire is really useful for collaborative research projects where multiple team members need to work together on various tasks. Secondly, I can use the sublist function to track the progress of my research projects individually. Thirdly, the basic function is really simple to use, and I can easily teach my mentee how to use it.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used it to keep track of daily to-do's, project management, and collaboration with my colleagues (brainstorming boards, etc).

Pros

  • The ability to tag and label items.
  • The ability to set the priority level.
  • The ability to complete items and have them removed from the list.

Cons

  • The Workspaces are not intuitive.
  • No ability to set reminders for tasks.
  • More could be done with priority levels (instead of just arrows).

Likelihood to Recommend

Quire is useful for tracking daily to-do's or keeping track of a project. It's not as clean as some other software (such as Nuclino, for example) and can get a little messy when creating a Workspace. It was difficult for me to know what was private and what was visible to my collaborators

EXCELLENT for free software! Minimal and efficient

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Quire to organize my To-Dos in a way that allows me actually to do it (yes, I know! Shocking.) I find that it keeps me more accountable than a regular To-Do list app, and I love the Kanban boards and the way that they have a To-Do, In Progress, and Completed categories for my tasks. I also really like the fact that it has an overview of everything. It saves me a lot of time.

Pros

  • Kanban boards that makes it easier to look at my tasks.
  • Categories that help me organize my tasks into To-Do, In Progress and Completed.

Cons

  • Quire syncs with your calendar, but it would be nice to see an actual calendar within the app as well.

Likelihood to Recommend

I recommend Quire for small business owners, small teams, and the everyday professional, but I don't think it's suitable for big organizations. For a free piece of software, it's not surprising that they lack the capacity for it. It suits the needs of someone who wants to keep things small and minimalistic.
