Red Hat Satellite Review - July 2026
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Hi,
We mainly use RH Satellite as a repo to patch our RHEL servers, to manage our licences and we alose created some local subscriptions, such as EPEL.
We also, use it with AAP to automate our monthly OS patching.
In the coming weeks, we will start deploying capsules in the cloud(GCP) to reduce traffic between our head office, and our clouds servers around the world.

Pros
- Managing the subscriptions/licences

- I must say that AAP is getting harder to maintaing compared to Tower ;-)
- We don`t like the new way to calculate the licences
Return on Investment
- With APP modules, we were able to speed up our pathing
- The way the content views are managed help us a lot, we have a lot of SAP and non-SAP machines
