SAP HANA Cloud is integrated with SAP Fiori which is used in our organisation for AP ,Invoice processing and PO creation and is powered by SAP HANA Cloud databases.All the data related to accounts payable ,Purchase orders are stored in SAP HANA Cloud databases.Generating reports and data reconciliation is really fast with SAP HANA Cloud in-memory databases

Pros

  • SAP HANA Cloud has a interactive web application where the data stored in SAP HANA Cloud databases can be accessed in real time by creating custom calculated views of data and can also be saved for future use and also has export options to download the saved views

Cons

  • Making any customisation in the databases is highly dependent on SAP teams support , so very limited and timeconsuming process for making any updates
  • Works well with SAP systems like Fiori integrating with third party systems is not straightforward and requires custom developemnt

I am working for the logistics team for a supply chain where we create SAP HANA Cloud models by applying business rules and logic in order to track the materials in real time and with huge volume of data. Everything is working as expected but sometimes we see performance issues like huge memory consumption, duration etc.

Since we are on premise, we want to transition to SAP Business Technology Platform with HANA cloud for the db administration as I work as a Db admin and have to deal with all the performance and challenging issues and everything in it and you want to reduce the manual works in it

In my client engagement project, SAP HANA Cloud has played a pivotal role in managing applications and data on a single platform as well as Integration with 3rd party tools with BTP. Thus savings revenue in many critical business processes like P2P/ FTS/ STP etc. by 30% by much faster data processing/ workflow executions and payment cycles.

  • Providing end users opportunity to access various business critical apps on-the-go
  • Much faster data access thro' multi-mode channels and quicker document approval/ processing for the client
  • SAP HANA Cloud technology is pivotal in integrating various SAP apps into a single platform, giving users opportunity to build custom dashboard like apps for user convenience as well as quicker decision makings.

Cons

  • Faster data processing capabilities are required, sometimes its slow to churn out huge dataset to display results on hosted Apps.

The SAP Hana cloud gets its data from S4 Hana through SLT replication. We create a SAC report on top of the data residing in Hana DB.

Pros

  • Real-Time Analytics at Massive Scale - run complex analytical queries on huge volumes of live transactional data without pre-aggregation or data movement
  • Seamless Extension and Tight Integration with the Entire SAP Ecosystem SAP HANA Cloud is purpose-built as the data foundation for S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Single Source of Truth for Finance + Operations - Universal Journal (ACDOCA table) in HANA Cloud gives real-time P&L.

Cons

  • SQL Console and Query Formatting auto-format option (Q2 2025) helps readability, but lacks advanced debugging for complex joins or error prediction, making it hard for non-expert users to troubleshoot queries on massive datasets without crashes.
  • User Interface for Data Modeling (e.g., Calculation Views)Graphical modeling in Business Application Studio is intuitive for SAP pros but overwhelms beginners with nested hierarchies.
