Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am using SAS Viya for doing Statistical analysis on clinical trial data and also present my clinical trial data into visual manner, i use develop codes and flow to develop advance statistical method to do inference statistics and use explore and visualize to present my data into a very easy to understand way and make my stake holders track data in real time and do some interaction with it using dashboards.

Pros

  • SAS Viya does job scheduling which reduce human intervention
  • SAS Viya have visual and explore which present data in a very good way
  • SAS Viya have flows to automate the codes
  • SAS Viya have custom graphs to make required advanced graph
  • SAS Viya have Copilot AI to make it easy to use and time saving

Cons

  • Screen size might an issue when working on SAS Viya, big screen is required
  • SAS Viya compute server can be better in loading data

  • The real time data tracking with dashboard sharing makes a ROI
  • Automation in flows and jobs makes a ROI

Pros

  • SAS is can be used as query builder tool which can automate a lot of excel process.
  • There are variety of statistical options available that tie up good visual analytics.
  • There are inbuilt models available for different operations which doesn't require any coding and are easy to run.

Cons

  • Query builders have less functionality compared to some tools like alteryx.
  • Modifying and customizing outputs are still a cumbersome process.
  • Coding for special tasks is difficult and lengthy.

Return on Investment

  • SAS has provided a good statistical analysis but tool training is required.
  • A good POC of tools is required as for our industry it did not become very much effective by not having great level of flexibility.

  • Includes and interface to R for the few, newer approaches, that haven't yet been incorporated
