What is Surfaced?

Surfaced is an AI search visibility platform developed by EXPX B.V. in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. It tracks how brands appear in answers generated by AI engines, shows which competitors and sources are cited instead, and produces the content needed to close those gaps. It is built for in-house marketing teams, agencies and freelance consultants who measure brand visibility in AI answers across several markets and languages.

Prompt tracking across AI engines
Surfaced runs a fixed set of buyer prompts every day on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Grok, Mistral, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Google Search and Google News. Each prompt is tracked per language and country. Where the engine allows it, answers are collected from a real browser session, so the results match what users in that market see. Branded and unbranded prompts are reported as separate numbers.

Visibility scoring and competitor benchmarking
Brand Visibility is reported as a 0–100% share of AI responses. It sits alongside citations, mention rank, sentiment and competitor share of voice, and each can be broken down by engine, language and country.

Citation and gap analysis
For every answer, Surfaced records which pages the engine cited and which competitors it named. Gaps are ranked by the prompts and markets they affect. This shows which third-party pages and which missing evidence explain why a competitor is recommended.

Multilingual content generation
Ranked gaps can be turned into briefs and draft pages, such as articles, comparison pages, FAQs and schema blocks. Drafts are written natively in the target language, using local examples and terminology. Each draft goes through fact, SEO, GEO, copy and tone checks before human review and publishing.

Measuring change over time
After content is published, the same prompt set keeps running daily. Changes in visibility, citations and share of voice can then be compared against the original baseline in each market.

Workspaces, data handling and access
Separate client workspaces and white-label reports support agencies and consultants who manage several brands. Tracked prompts and generated content are not used to train shared models. API access is included on all plans, and a free plan is available with no credit card required.

Screenshots

Screenshot of The weekly overview shows the share of AI responses that named the brand, how many responses cited its pages, how many tracked prompts named it, and how many content gaps are open. A "What changed" panel compares the week with the previous one per engine. A "What to do next" list ranks actions such as reviewing prepared content, publishing a page for a missed question, or getting listed on a frequently cited site.
Screenshot of This view reports brand visibility, citation rate, share of voice against tracked competitors, average mention position and sentiment over a chosen date range, with changes against the previous period. Each metric shows its count and denominator, for example mentions out of total responses. Trend charts show how visibility and citation rate change over time.
Screenshot of Every entity named in the tracked AI answers is ranked by brand visibility, share of voice, average position and mention count, next to the user's own brand. Competitors can be pinned for direct share-of-voice comparison, or opened to see every prompt that mentions them.
Screenshot of This view lists topics where AI answers consistently leave the brand out. Each gap shows how many answers it covers, how long it has been missing, how severe it is, and whether it matches the brand's catalogue. Findings move through the stages decide, being addressed, measuring and verified, so each one can be followed from discovery to outcome.
Screenshot of Gaps become briefs and draft articles, each tagged with the target markets and languages and with a status: suggested, brief draft or review required. A content agent prepares drafts for human review before anything is published.
Screenshot of The audit scores how ready a site is to be cited in AI search, split into Foundation, On-Page and Content checks. Each failing check explains the problem and gives the fix, with a copyable snippet where one applies.
