Trend Micro Apex One.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an endpoint protection, App Trend allows us to monitor and protect 100 or so devices centrally and easily. It works in tandem with Windows Defender to block viruses, ransomware, and other malicious code from damaging devices or stealing our data.

Pros

  • Central management.
  • Endpoint protection.
  • Antivirus
  • Dlp

Cons

  • Reporting could be better.
  • Console can be hard to navigate sometimes.

Likelihood to Recommend

Good for multiple endpoints where it can easily be deployed via Intune. Works for multiple operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) if licensed correctly. It may get unwieldy for very large deployments of 500+. Overall, it is a good small-mid-sized business endpoint protection program.

Trend Vision in a School Setting

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Trend Vision One Endpoint Security on all our Windows workstations in my school district. We use the product as our malware/antivirus software and as an EDR. I am able to use the dashboard to monitor our workstations and make sure everything is staying healthy and running smoothly.

Pros

  • Malware protection
  • Antivirus protection
  • Endpoint response

Cons

  • Malware scanning can be a little too strict at times preventing the use of needed files.
  • The EDR blocks secure browser connections that is needed for state testing.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Trend is well suited for businesses that need an all-in-one malware/antivirus/EDR solution. It works well and runs smoothly in the background not hindering the users. Our only issue with it is the use of it and secure browsers for state testing. The EDR wants to automatically blocked the use of secure browsers setup by the state.

Trend micro with Major features

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using software as a global antivirus in all systemnacross the site.

Also it is installed in major equipment software.

Product has addressed problems by cont. providing update to quarantine the bugs and kept away the systems. Real-time and scheduled scan is one of the best feature and reasons to cont. with software. Also scope is to integrate with third party systems.

Pros

  • Real-time and scheduled scanning.
  • Third party software supports and recommend Trendmicro
  • Best online support

Cons

  • Client somentime found it offline during working.
  • If anyhow it is offline client can't make it online.
  • Some major third party company not agreed with policy

Likelihood to Recommend

Software is always updated and add-on are available. Also now a days operators has widely used so getting hands on not an issue. Immediate scanning when external device connected and detected.

Client has no any control as more admin has on the software. This to be improved. Other wise it is one other best..

Trend Micro Apex One

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have reduced the operational management time and we could also outsource some of the service support to Trend Micro. Trend Micro helps our business to be protected by making sure no malicious activity is happening. We have solved the issue of upgrading and maintaining Apex One and Apex Central by moving to SaaS.

Pros

  • Realtime scanning.
  • Managed from cloud.
  • Restricting URL's based on web reputation.

Cons

  • New feature requires updating agents on client system.
  • The dashboard could be redesigned.
  • The SaaS interface is a bit slow.

Likelihood to Recommend

The vulnerability protection features gives the time to test the security patches before deployment while keeping the endpoint safe. The ability to manage all policies from apex central on SAAS adds to ease of use. System has very fine-grained control over agents and allows for extensive tweaking to accommodate for older in-house apps.

Trend Micro Apex One antivirus with powerful anti threats, including fileless and ransomware

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

After making an investigation about Trend Micro Apex One and figuring out that is the lightest antivirus in the market, other ones are a heavy solution and consume a lot of RAM and CPU, I have a problem with 40% of our desktop pc with low performance(disk, ram, etc).

Pros

  • Light performance consumption.
  • Accurate detection and take action quickly.
  • Storage logs on its events in order to received alerts about it and take action.

Cons

  • Replicate update to other devices.
  • Console with better interface.
  • Friendly interaction with core center (support, license, updates, etc).

Likelihood to Recommend

Trend Micro Apex One is the best antivirus that I've worked with. It's effective, uses low performance (memory, disk, CPU), threat detection, and response effective, block any unusual behavior, sends suggestions about an action that you must execute.

Amazing Guard for your machine....!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Trend Micro Apex One (formerly OfficeScan) is a great tool to secure your machine from unwanted phishing and cyber threats. It has a smart agent scan, which keeps scanning unwanted processes and neutralizes if they are threats. We are primarily using this to secure our machines and keep their software up to date.

Pros

  • Entire machine scan.
  • Software updates.
  • Actionable insights.

Cons

  • Hard to logout.
  • Runs in background.
  • Rest is good.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you have a large number of folks and you want to keep everyone's machines in sync, Trend Micro Apex One (formerly OfficeScan) is amazing software. It really helps you to protect your machines from outside threats. You can easily update the software on all machines in one go. I have a few folks. Maybe it's less appropriate.

Apex One delivers a exceptional product at an affordable price.

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Apex One to protect our entire organization from virus/malware threats including potential ransomware attacks. We use it on both our business network along our automation network which is essential for revenue generation. We originally started with OfficeScan and have since upgraded to Apex One when it was released and the product has continued to evolve and grow with the ever-changing threat landscape. We rely heavily on the Behavior Monitoring portion of Apex One to keep our network safe from ransomware. Although it does create some false positives we can easily add the necessary exceptions (as needed) to keep our network safe. But in my mind, I would rather be safe than sorry. We also use the virus/malware scanner and integrated firewall inside of ApexOne and we notice little drain of system resources from the product. However, we do schedule system scans during the overnight hours to help offset any performance issues that may be seen on older computers but that can also be configured to pause scanning if CPU utilization exceeds 50%. Overall we have been very happy with Apex One and would highly recommend it.

Pros

  • Advanced threat protection including ransomware
  • Continuously updating product
  • Centralized endpoint management and deployment
  • Sleep well at night with piece of mind that my network is protected

Cons

  • More integrated reporting and alerts into the Apex One console without needing Central Server.

Likelihood to Recommend

Apex One has been the best AV product that I have used to date. It is easy to deploy and manage and is a complete package to keep our endpoints and network protected from the ever-evolving advanced threats. We strive to keep our network safe while limiting the impact on our users and this product has done that for us.

Apex One - Good product!

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Apex One SaaS version for our antivirus solution. We use it across all of our servers and workstations (almost 9000 machines). In conjunction with our other security products, it helps us stay on top of viruses, malware, spyware/grayware, ransomware, etc. We use real-time, scheduled and manual scans.

Pros

  • Blocks malicious websites.
  • Behavior monitoring module terminates suspicious processes.
  • Quarantines suspicious files.
  • Allows file restore from central quarantine.

Cons

  • Reports/Logs.
  • 2 separate web consoles - 1 for policies and main config, 1 for agents management. Would be nice to have just 1.
  • More customization.

Likelihood to Recommend

Not sure of any IT environment that wouldn't be well suited.

Takes the worry out of being safe and covered

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Trend Micro Apex One (formerly OfficeScan) across the whole organization. We started off with Deep security years ago and moved/upgraded to OfficeScan and up to Trend Micro Apex One. It is great for catching spyware and viruses. I feel it does a great job and gives me peace of mind. At the end of the day, our machines are covered from attacks.

Pros

  • It does not eat up computer resources like other vendors do
  • Upgrades and patching seem to go well and are easy to apply
  • Software coverage is outstanding; peace of mind at the end of the day

Cons

  • Only thing I would have to say that's negative is the reporting aspect. Basic reporting is good but still lacks some details. This is a problem with many of the software vendors I have encountered in the past as well. Reporting is still much better than most.

Likelihood to Recommend

Trend Micro Apex One (formerly OfficeScan) is very easy to manage and has many great features right out of the box. It is easy to set up, manage, and customize to your business or environment. Don't just take my word for it; give it a shot for yourself and see if it fits in your situation.

Trend Micro Apex One its better than Officescan

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Officescan is being used on 9000 + workstations and on some of our servers as well. We are currently in the process of migrating to Apex One from OfficeScan. OfficeScan is being used throughout the organization in all our remote offices and on our main campus. It is much more effective then Symantec Endpoint Protection was at catching viruses.

Pros

  • We were able to stand up an apex one server and migrate all of our settings from the current officescan server without any issues
  • The upgrades for apex one actually work without an issue, as compared to how they would constantly fail in officescan
  • The console is very similar so there was no learning curve
  • The method of upgrading the software from older versions to newer versions is much easier and no longer forces all the systems to reboot, it now gives an option for the end user to choose when to reboot

Cons

  • OfficeScan has a fault, if you use the msi to install it on you clients then you have to use the same name for the msi the next time you push the msi to upgrade the clients to latest version. This was supposedly fixed in apex one
  • OfficeScan forces the clients to reboot immediately when you enable upgrading of the agent through console, this is so far fixed in apex one
  • Enabling the firewall is confusing and the instructions on the website don't match up with how your supposed to enable it.
  • It seems to constantly need updates every few months, due to vulnerabilities or issues being found with the client

Likelihood to Recommend

Before Trend Micro OfficeScan we used Symantec Endpoint Protection and although it was very easy to deploy and to update agents it couldn't find a virus if you pointed it out with a neon sign. We were always getting hit with different viruses but since we migrated to Trend we no longer have that problem. Trend has definitely been preventing those kind of outbreaks successfully.
