A great option for quick, low-budget needs!

Rating: 7 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We leverage Unsplash for Brands for their library of stock photos. We use them on websites, blog content, sporadically on social media platforms, and sometimes in print materials. It was nice to be able to go to a free, third-party source to find potential imagery and photography that could help us complete projects as needed.

Pros

  • High Res Photos.
  • Photo Variety.
  • Large Selection.

Cons

  • General Photography.
  • Industry-Specific Images.
  • User-experience.

Likelihood to Recommend

If someone is in a specific or super-niche industry, they may not find that Unsplash for Brands is a good option for them. I would say their site and their library of photographic images are a bit more general -- so if you need something stylized, it may not be the place for you.

We can find a great compilation of high quality pictures for our design projects, choose the resolution from the same website and filter the search almost as we want

Pros

  • filter
  • quality image

Cons

  • They could work with illustrations too
  • Offer more resolution formats
  • Add some edition tools on the same website

The platform work great to find new high quality and resolution pictures, you won't be able to find icons or illustrations. They are very good at images, mostly lifestyle images.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I love using Unsplash for many jobs for a retainer client since there is such a wide array of choices of photographs, photographers, and themes. I am able to solve my client's challenges with beautiful, high-end photographs. We use them for flyers, web banners, posters, pole banners, marketing materials, brochures, and their internal bulletin.

Pros

  • brochures
  • pole banners
  • website images
  • marketing materials
  • bulletin

Cons

  • more macro and micro images
  • better meta data tagging for ease of search
  • brighter images
  • more diversity

Likelihood to Recommend

In the area of diversity, there needs to be a wider range of races of people for inclusivity purposes. I work for a company that is very inclusive and we are always looking for models in stock photos that represent all races and ages. We pride ourselves in that everyone can be represented and people can feel that they belong in our company. this creates a sense of strong community and belonging

An Unsung Hero

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I recently started using Unsplash as part of a community advocacy program integration and it has been a pleasant change. It's a really nice feature that using Unsplash is built directly into the program so I don't need to go to another website to search for images, and the search feature allows me to find what I need quickly.

Pros

  • Search feature
  • Variety of images
  • Easy to choose and download

Cons

  • Would like to see more variety for commonly searched images
  • Indications if you've used the images before on the site and when (dates, challenges)
  • Information on the photographer/creator

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Unsplash for Brands is well-suited for anyone who does content creation and already uses a program which it is built into; had I never used Pexels prior to Unsplash, I probably would give Unsplash a 10 but because I really like using Pexels and got a bit spoiled using that (which I believe has a bit more unique photos), I give it a 9. It's near perfect, but there happens to be a very similar tool that is also really great. That being said, it's a new batch of images instead of using Pexels so the variety is even better.

Unsplash is the best free photo service

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Unsplash is the go-to service for our firm’s photo needs. We use license-free photos for our website and socials. With us producing around 4-6 articles every month, high-quality license-free photos are vital to accompany our published pieces. Without Unsplash, we would have to use pay for stock photo service, which would create a great expense for us as a business.

Pros

  • High quality licence free photos
  • Great search function in comparison to similar products
  • No sign-up necessary

Cons

  • Search results could be shuffled
  • Easier way to navigate the vast library of images
  • A rating system

Likelihood to Recommend

When looking for stock photos for our firm, my go-to software is Unsplash. When looking for a specific image, with more than one search word, Unsplash narrows down the results much better than competitors, such as Pexels. However, obviously not every image can be found for free, and a free service does a great job but is still bettered by paid services.

Unsplash for Brands--the best free image site out there

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Unsplash for Brands on a weekly basis in my job as a designer. It enables me to find and use more natural photography making my clients work look more authentic and less staged. Also stocks certain image topics that can be find on stock websites.

Pros

  • Provides beautiful natural and in action photos
  • Provided royalty free imagery which is great for charities who have a budget or not budget for photography
  • Photos are more stylistic and creative than traditional stock sites like Adobe, iStock, Shutterstock

Cons

  • Expand corporate image library

Likelihood to Recommend

I did a project talking about Gen-Z audience - 80% of the photography in it was from Unsplash for Brands. Unsplash for Brands was the only place I could find natural, creative and energetic images of young people and portraying a diverse group of people. Without the use of Unsplash for Brands I would not have been able to create such a visually eye catching and appealing report for my client. It was a life saver in this project. I have also used it for wedding brochures for event insurance. Again they had a beautiful catalog of shots which filled at least 70% of the design materials on wedding insurance. This site is great when working with charities, especially small ones who do not have a budget to buy stock photography. This enables the smaller charities I have worked with to have as professional and eye catching shots as the big charities. Making their work look professional and help them gain grants etc.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Unsplash for a number of projects and campaigns. One of the problems that Unsplash has helped me to tackle is the use of images when none of our users could be found to fit the specific need. It allows you access to free, professional photography across a wide range of key search terms.

Pros

  • Allows you to discover a vast range of professionals.
  • Quick access to a library of high quality images.
  • Collect examples of photography styles to use when guiding a campaign design.

Cons

  • Would be nice to search across multiple tags rather than one definitive tag.

Likelihood to Recommend

In my current role, we like to use engaging images that paint a picture of life at university and the community we have. Sometimes our users or staff don't feel comfortable being used for marketing or having their image out there. This sometimes leads to struggles when needing photography to better visualise the journey and make pages or elements more interesting.

Unsplash for Brands: creativity at your fingertips

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Unsplash for Brands helped us quickly design and implement web graphics that we could present to clients. The main problem that we had was the lack of content creator/photographers in the company and Unsplash for Brands fit perfectly as a solution. We mainly used it to create articles and augment it with relevant images that would express visually what we communicated.

Pros

  • Provide easy access to high quality images
  • Multiple image formats at your finger tips
  • Non-intrusive ads

Cons

  • It's not always easy to find the image we are looking for
  • Better filtering
  • Color palette filtering

Likelihood to Recommend

Unsplash for Brands is well suited for creative teams and companies that need to deliver content to different brands in any timeframe. On the other hand it is less appropriate when you have very strict design guidelines and color palette since finding images that match exactly your style might result very tedious.

Find eye-popping trending images with speed and ease

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I write a lot of content and image support is imperative to delivering a visual for that content. I use Unsplash to find trending and relatable image content to support the words I write to bring them to life.

Pros

  • Trending Images
  • High Resolution Images
  • Content Creator Images

Cons

  • Expand on the content categories.
  • Expand content based on geographical areas.
  • Possibly offer training on Images and Image usage when writing content.

Likelihood to Recommend

I love that I can get real-time and trending content made available on current events. When writing 5-7 articles a day, a good image to support the context of the writing really drives the message home to the reader. Unsplash offers an easy way to search for images that I can use to boot visual engagement, images that are from the field and that resonate with the audience.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a designer/developer, the only way I could often get images to use in design/web projects was to purchase expensive stock photos. Thanks to Unsplash, I can now use images consistently for all my work. I now have access to an almost limitless library of images, and I've used Unsplash for everything from mobile apps to websites to billboard advertisements.

Pros

  • Unsplash consists of a great selection and good variety stock photos.
  • Unsplash offers curated collections.
  • Unsplash offers great advertising options to creators.

Cons

  • The layout and UX is not as friendly as many other similar platforms.
  • Search engine could be improved.
  • Bulk download would be wonderful.

Likelihood to Recommend

Easy access to high-quality, free stock photography I like using Unsplash for finding good, high-resolution photos for the reports I design and create for donors and these photos have a professional and high-quality appearance. We can also contribute to the community and track the Stats of that Photo/Image on the website itself.
