Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Litmus to verify the code we write for out HTML emails will work everywhere as planned. We have begun expanding our usage to include using some of the personalization features like bringing an Instagram feed into our email newsletter. We use the tracking features to help ensure we are spending our development time wisely and getting the most "juice" for the squeeze!

Litmus from Validity review from an Email Marketer

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As an email marketing manager, I use Litmus from Validity on a daily basis. This platform allows me to send and receive proof review/approvals from cross-company stakeholders, visually see how the email will render on various email platforms, ensuring accessibility rendering and also provides the ability to easily implement pre-created modules (countdown timers, polls, satisfaction feedback, scratch-off, etc.) as an HTML code snippet into our emails.

Their deliverability and analytics tool is also a very useful aspect of the platform by providing insights reporting on read time, platform, dark mode and engagement.

Pros

  • Multiple platform email proofing/rendering
  • Creative module creation (no HTML coding required)
  • Engagement reporting

Cons

  • Ease of implementing engagement back into Salesforce
  • Mobile proofing ability - our team members are always on the go

Return on Investment

  • Tremendous time saver - easily 10 hours a week in module creation.
  • Ability to reach and record multiple stakeholder's feedback in a concise way.
  • Ability to have visibility and awareness into deliverability, email rendering/accessibility access and engagement results.

The QA Testing Capabilities are unbeatable!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to ensure that our emails are displaying well on a variety of email clients. It helps us to pinpoint & eliminate any HTML-related layout defects. We also use it to share with our clients how the emails are rendering across clients - for their peace of mind. Additionally, we use email guardian for ongoing monitoring of triggers/email journeys.

Pros

  • Super easy to use
  • Various display options allows us to review a high volume of content quickly
  • Shareability options are great, as it allows others to view any email client renderings, even if they do not personally use Litmus daily as I do

Cons

  • A versioning or organization feature would be great
  • Offer more recent email clients. The newer ones are often not available
  • In my opinion it runs slow sometimes

Return on Investment

  • Time saved not needing to use QA test accounts
  • Client visibility as to our testing process & sharing any defects present
