Consultant's experience using VisibleThread VT Writer
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use VisibleThread VT Writer to review our internal knowledge base documentation and also external communications going to clients or advisors. We use it to make sure we are speaking in active voice. We also use it to simplify our language/limit run-on sentences so that users internally can quickly grasp processes and clients can easily understand our communications.
Pros
- Provides a grade level for the complexity of your writing
- Quickly identifies long sentences and passive voice
- Provides alternatives to complex words
Cons
- More automation, other software in this space is able to completely rewrite content and even provide multiple iterations at once
- Ability to tailor results and desired output based on target audience, i.e. desired grade level might vary based on audience
- Would be nice if VT can start writing content based on bullet points, again more automation
