Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use YourCause as the platform to manage our CSR programs and grants as well as our DEI Business Resource Groups. It is the hub for engaging our people in volunteering and giving as well as the tool we use to measure impact. It helps us to operate our programs at scale while maintaining consistency, transparency and positive end-user experience.

Pros

  • Impact Edge Dashboard has made it easier to quickly source and provide data and show/share impact.
  • Their customer support and partnership experience has far exceeded similar organizations. I have partnered with them on multiple initiatives that have benefited both sides.
  • Prior to YourCause we used multiple methods and tools. YourCause has effectively helped us consolidate employee giving, volunteering, grant making, matching gifts, board role tracking, BRG members etc. into one tool.

Cons

  • Impact Edge Dashboard is working on giving the user more abilities to customize and share information how they need to vs. a standard.
  • Easier end-user experience for companies that have employees in multiple countries. This can at times get administratively daunting.

Return on Investment

  • I am a one person team for a large organization and the YourCause tool has improved my ability to focus more on strategy vs. tactical tasks.
  • YourCause has helped me scale programs without increasing administrative effort.
  • I believe it has also helped me to better align our CSR and ESG focus areas to company goals and strategy.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

For our small foundation, having one place for employee relations and donor engagement is crucial. CSRconnect is a progressive software that keeps employees up to date with the company's CSR goals. Our donors are our main priority, and YourCause allows us to seemlessly integrate CSR between employees and donors which is all we can ask for in a platform.

Pros

  • The user experience has increased exponentially in the time we have implemented here at Principal. Each iteration makes it easier for our employees to use. Creating events is one of the strengths that immediately come to mind. With a few tweaks it is the most intuitive and simple of most of the components of the CSR side.

Cons

  • Date/calendar feature is rough - it automatically puts in a year out so you have to correct that and the time zone needs to automatically populate as it's a huge list that confuses most people.
  • The search feature overall - not intuitive and clunky and usually inaccurate - needs to be fine tuned as well as broadened to include everything associated with a particular event or user - having said that they have made great improvements in this in the recent future so that's something to be grateful for.

Pros

  • Customer service - Our Account Manager is always quick to jump in and help herself, if not point us in the proper direction.
  • The platform is very intuitive and consistently being upgraded/updated.
  • Design is creative/colorful and can be quickly customized for a client.

Cons

  • There is wording on the platform that needs to be changed. Instead of "Add Shift" it should say "Sign Up." That makes sense and doesn't confuse the employee.
  • Need to display only the current projects/events, no past events (once over) should show up.
  • Need to be "best practices" that can be shared with client peers.
  • Reporting features could be a bit more user-friendly.
