At Ping, we used Zoomin primarily for technical content, but the intent was to also provide a single jump-off point for all customer information (support portal, communities, developer portal, documentation, video). The business problem addressed by Zoomin was confusion due to multiple interfaces and urls for information from 6 departments. Zoomin created a single go-to page that consolidated all platforms.

Zoomin is best suited for an organization that uses DITA or other forms of structured authoring in at least one department. The structure provided by DITA will lay the foundation for all other types of content that are imported into Zoomin.
