Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Firefly

The business would like to speed up the process for creating posters and images for internal promotional material as there are many events throughout the year and the turn around can be quite tight. Adobe Firefly is intended to help support with this with generative tools to save time in the creation process

Pros

  • Integration with other adobe products
  • Roadmap for development is strong
  • Familiar software

Cons

  • Environmental concerns surrounding AI generation
  • In my experience, images generated are inconsistent , unpredictable
  • Requires internet connectivity at all times
  • Little in the way of time saving due to the time spent checking through images for faults
  • Quick integration into adobe meant little time spent installing
  • Familiar lay out
In my opinion, the product is fairly easy to get to grips with, especially as a business that already has access to the Adobe Suite of products, so a few extra skill to pick was wasn't too difficult. The team are already fairly well versed in adobe creative products so this was easy to integrate into the workflow
Photoshop provides a far more extensive and complete set of features, largely due to it being a far older product that has been through decades more development time with feed back from creatives and artists to build on. Adobe Firefly is still extremely new and dare I say, in my opinion, gimmicky, as generative AI still struggles to generate clean consistent imagery in the way that a person could. I think it may need more time, or it may be folded into photoshop. Time will tell

Do you think Adobe Firefly delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Firefly's feature set?

No

Did Adobe Firefly live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Firefly go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Firefly again?

No

I think it can be useful in helping to edit existing images with generative fill, however this is an aspect that exists in Adobe PhotoShop already. In my opinion, full image generation remains weak and inconsistent at times leading to multiple tries and re-tries. Images involving faces and text are smeary and unfinished looking so they remain unusable
