Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

We have implemented our 3 statement model and expense model in Anaplan. It is being used across every department in our org. It helps facilitate our budget reviews when we speak with budget managers.

Pros

  • It organized everything into one structured place where it is very user friendly for someone who doesnt have a finance background.
  • It gives budget managers access to their budget (self service model).
  • Very reliable and fast - our Excel model consistently crashed when we had to update each month of actuals.

Cons

  • The upload time takes a while across pages.
  • Not as flexible as Excel (need more for different versions).
  • Onboarding could have been better as we were not familiar with the services.
We did not look at other products. It was either Excel or anaplan.
Anaplan is well suited for implementing your whole corporate model. I think it could be a powerful tool for sales comp and looking at different cohorts. It is a great tool for expenses and budgeting. It is not that effective for our billings as it does not integrate well with Workday and NetSuite and we constantly have to manually enter things.
