Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan
We are using Anaplan primarily within finance for forecasting, account reconciliation, and FP&A, as well as Supply Chain for our S&OP process. Anaplan allows us to increase visibility across teams and departments. We hope to expand our use cases and incorporate additional teams and functions.
- One of Anaplan's great advantages is that it enables users to create a custom solution and build out their model to meet their needs. If you have the right personnel in house there is almost no limit to what you can build.
- Anaplan's structure of lists and modules allows users to quickly and easily build out their model for multiple products and accounts with significantly less effort than using spreadsheets. Formulas are preserved for all elements of a list so there is no risk of 'fat fingering' your formula in an individual cell.
- Users can easily consolidate disparate reports making Anaplan a one-stop-shop for viewing reports and analysis all in one place.
- Dashboards and reporting are not advanced enough for executive level consumption and they are not as easy to customize as spreadsheet based solutions. That said, they are sufficient for most end users.
- The process of setting up and automating data imports is not easy and does require some level of expertise (and patience).
- You may encounter resistance and slow adoption from users who prefer the free-form nature of spreadsheets, since Anaplan does not allow them to perform ad-hoc side calculations. Values can be copy and pasted between Anaplan and Excel easily, but this is an added step for people who like to frequently manipulate and analyze data.
