Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

Anaplan is an advanced modeling platform which connects people, data, and plans across the enterprise to a single source of truth. Anaplan has enabled us to model FP&A budgets, Real Estate Valuations and Forecasting, Incentive Compensation Management , aworkforce planning and various other use cases. Across all use cases it has enabled users to easily model various scenarios in real time and view results of what if analysis on their plans. The platform also has the ability to pull data from various sources through easily configurable in ETL's / File loads , CSVs etc. Anaplan has also helped us improve our reporting of various plans using the Management Reporting functionality. Some of the business problems it has helped in solving includes Real Time Scenario modeling and calculations, Auditability and Transparency, Realtime interconnected modeling across various use cases

Pros

  • Anaplan has a very fast calculation engine which is able to model across multiple dimensions in real time across huge data sets. This helps in calculating complex scenarios instantaneously
  • Easy to maintain by business teams which reduces dependency on IT teams within the organization and also on external consultants
  • Advanced Tenant controls which allows administrators to manage security and access across various models

Cons

  • Ability to decide if to apply the formula or a manual input on front end for each line item
  • Real Time Data Transfer across models. Currently Data is transferred using Processes across different models. Having a functionality to access data from any model in real time would be great
  • Reduction in time spent by sales ops team in processing compensation by almost 20 %
  • Ability to drill down into each compensation calculation to understand the details of how the comp is calculated. This has provided more transparency / traceability to end users
  • we are able to release updates to the system faster as it is easier to maintain and sync
I assign this rating as anaplan is easy to understand and use. The UX of Anaplan is intuitive and highly flexible allowing for creating custom views for various user roles. The system also provides the Management reporting functionality which creates impressive reports using real time data. The system also allows for faster enhancements and updates hence providing the organizations with faster deployments
Anaplan is more powerful than Pigment considering that it is an Enterprise class system and is able to manage bigger data sets. Anaplan allows for advanced scenario modeling and formula capabilities along with custom reporting functionalities. Anaplan has proven its capabilities and stability across various use cases and across bigger enterprises when compared to Pigment which is still in earlier phases of its development

Anaplan is a powerful multi dimensional modeling platform which is easy to navigate and provides a great User Experience. It is capable of handling any Use Case which can be managed using Excel and more specifically shines in functional areas of Incentive Compensation, Workforce Planning, FP&A planning, Real Estate Modeling Etc
