Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

Anaplan is the current solution used for the commercial planning process. It allows to plan volumes, pricing and promotions (discounts/rebates/A&P spend) and it allows to track the effectiveness of each promo with a feedback of actual data that are brought in at the lowest level of detail. Another use case where Anaplan is used is for planning the NSV impact of NPI (new product introduction).

Pros

  • modern UX
  • on the fly calculation
  • short lifecycle implementation

Cons

  • in the new UX it would be great to have more flexibility in terms of layout design
  • multirole for user
  • admin cockpit to check performance of the model
  • on the fly calculation
  • integration with other tools
  • Main ROI is related to the reduction of manual tasks, free up time for the business users to focus on value added task
Anaplan offers flexibility and customization for complex modeling. The interface is generally intuitive for the end users. Overall, it’s powerful and effective, but a bit of a challenge for beginners. Usability also depends on how the models and apps are set up during implementation, so it’s essential to follow best practices in dashboard design and functionality to ensure a smoother user experience.

Using Anaplan

600 - Commercial, Finance, S&OP
10 - Model Builders, Solution Architect, Solution Manager, Business Analyst, Tester, Ops Manager
  • Volume Planning
  • A&P Planning
  • Price Planning
  • Innovation Planning
  • S&OP Planning
  • Financial Planning
We see its potential to expand beyond current use case. We're particularly interested in extending use cases to Financial Planning and S&OP Planning to achieve a fully integrated business planning approach. While the platform is powerful, further development is needed to ensure it can support the complexity of true end-to-end integration across these new areas.

Evaluating Anaplan and Competitors

  • Cloud Solutions
  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
If we were to go through the evaluation and selection process again, we might consider evaluating an out-of-the-box tool that requires less configuration than Anaplan. While Anaplan's flexibility is invaluable, an alternative solution with built-in, pre-configured functionalities might accelerate initial setup and could be easily expanded to other markets.

Anaplan Support

Generally helpful and when opening a ticket their first response is usually very fast. For complex tickets it sometimes takes too long to get a proper response from Level 2 and Level 3 support. Additionally, there is often a need to reiterate explanations to different teams, which can slow down resolution times and impact efficiency.
ProsCons
Quick Initial Response
Less knowledgeable
Escalation required
Need to explain problems multiple times
We have the Hypercare Enterprise that provides 4 models optimization per year that are very usefull to understand the bottleneck of a model
Yes - Usually yes but for complex resolution where the ticket moves to Level2 or Level3 support it can take time for the issue to get resolved.
