Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our firm leverages Anaplan for all things ranging from portfolio company operations to internal compensation management. The one thing that these use cases all have in common is that they aim to solve the problem of manual entries/inconsistencies/errors in offline tools such as Excel. Users can now focus less on the manual-intensive work they were previously doing as it is solved by time-intensive calculations and integrations.

Anaplan is best suited for organizations looking to clean up their planning processes or feel that their current processes are just flat-out garbage. Anaplan forces you to legitimize your operations in an approach that's tailored to industry best practices. If your organization is heavily invested in spreadsheets and your employees don't want to break their computers, this is probably the tool for you. This tool is probably not for you if you're looking to backfill old data with little to no calculations. This is not a reporting tool, but rather a GREAT calculation engine.
